Had to head into Beaumont last night and didn't want to stop at Watt Common Walmart or the Mill Woods Sobeys on my way back to Edmonton. I am SO GLAD I did...
Thank you for the AMAZING gluten free section!!! Since renos, Mill Woods has gotten rid of it and has gluten free items scattered through out the store (with many of my regular items being deleted with the new floor plan/mods). It was absolutely wonderful to grab things like Snyder's gluten free honey mustard pretzels, Snyder's gluten free pretzel sticks and the Thai Kitchen spring onion rice noodle packs. Not only do other Sobey's not carry these products any more - I can't find them on the south or east side of Edmonton at other grocers.
The cashier that rung in my items was cheerful and polite. While I did not have direct interactions with any floor staff, the ones I did see made eye contact and smiled (which is not as good as asking if I was finding every thing ok, but miles above diverting their eyes haha).
The store was clean, and although an older one, not shabby or decrepit. The parking lot and cart corral was clean and not full of stray carts.
I found items (an example being donair sauce with a GF claim) that I've never seen before.
A simple stop to grab 5 things for tacos turned into a $130 spending craze and that's only because I stopped myself.
I will be making the drive to this Sobeys from now on.
