The Capital Grille

Juanita was an excellent server. She was very attentive without feeling overbearing. We had a late reservation and even so she never betrayed any sense of annoyance or tried to rush us out the door. Our cocktails arrived promptly and she was very informed about celiac allergies and provided a gluten-friendly menu immediately. The food was pretty good, but the service brought the restaurant to five stars. Big thank you to Juanita and the rest of the staff for making us feel comfortable and settling Us in for a nice meal.

Excellent spot near the 4, 5, 6 on 42nd. Very good about adapting for allergens. I ate there for Thanksgiving, and they were clear about what was gluten free, safe for celiac. I ended up getting the swordfish, which was amazing. I did notice a crispy topping when my entree was brought out, and the staff was quick to look into it, discover it had gluten, and remake the dish for me. Thanksgiving was very busy, so a little mix-up can happen—what's important is making it right without fuss. Staff was unflappable even with kids running under tables. Everyone had a great time; felt both friendly and fancy.
