The Northey Arms

A very busy lunch service even at 13.30 The 4 of us had booked using the app, but when shown to the last table available, it was only laid for 3, with 3 chairs. This was quickly remedied. A comprehensive menu with some tasty looking dishes. I have coeliac disease, so I was looking forward to a GF beer battered fish and chips. Unfortunately, they had run out of GF flour, so it wasn't available. One observation I'd make is that GF or GFA dishes are not marked on the menu, whereas Vegan and Vegetarian are!!!. One of my friends ordered the rib eye pork, but it was cold. The staff apologised and said they'd make another. They also deducted this from our bill. Sadly, the second dish was also cold. My friend ordered something else which was perfectly fine and he enjoyed it. Of course, by this time, the rest of us had finished our meals. An additional £20 was also deducted from our bill. Whilst these events were disappointing, I can't praise the front of house and waiting staff enough. They were very good, courteous and apologised for the unfortunate issue. We'd have no problem in returning again.

Room was small but well equipped. Good choice for breakfast and cooked to order. I stressed several times that I’m a coeliac and when I was given my cooked order, noticed my toast looked similar to my husband’s . On checking I was given ordinary toast and such a relief that I checked and a disaster avoided
