Since my email of complaint is not being replied to I’ll just leave this here Hello, I booked a table for 14 for the 28.11.23 for my mum's surprise 50th birthday meal, on arrival we were told our table which was great as it was the table i had requested when booking, and we had our drinks order taken while waiting for my mum to arrive. After she arrived orders were taken promptly, no issues. our waitress came back not long after and informed my mum who has a dairy allergy, vegetarian and had limited food options as it is with your new menu, that the veggie curry she ordered could not come with rice and you had none! so she had to have it with chips instead, what restaurant does not have rice which is a basic ingredient???. we also had a child with us who is gluten intolerant, and the range of foods for her was not acceptable either. our starters came out, with a few mistakes, with food coming we had not ordered. then we waited an hour and a half for the starter plates to be taken away which we had to ask for, and then another 15 minutes for our mains to come out. When the mains did come, I had 10 chips on the plate, my partner and the others had the same issue and most of our meals were cold. We found we also had to go to the bar to order drinks as no one came over for drinks orders when our food had come out. After our meals, our bill came, which had extras on we did not ordered and my dad asked the waitress about it, and she slammed the plates in her hand down onto a table which i find very passive-aggressive. We ended up just paying whatever was on the bills as we just wanted to leave. As such an important meal, i chose you guys because of past experience, a few years ago you held my great grandmother's wake, which was fantastic, myself and other family members have dinned at the pub frequently, and have never had issues before. I am embarrassed I chose your establishment as my mum's 50th meal celebrations, i feel so bad for her that her birthday celebrations has now been left with a memory of poor service, rude staff, and a serious lack in options for people with allergies and intolerances.

The staff and food are truly excellent. The non-gluten menu is one of the best ever imho. Just missed five stars as the room could do with updating a little.
