I booked lunch at the Sword Inn Hand for my family and me on Boxing Day 2024. There were five of us, and we had a fantastic time. I can't fault any aspect of lunch - the service was excellent and with super friendly (but professional) staff. The food was outstanding, with a great selection and one of our party is Gluten Free and she was looked after incredibly well. We will definitely be going back and I would recommend this lovely pub to anyone who's looking for great food, service, value and friendly staff.

Superb service, from the welcoming cheerful waitress, via the birthday card from all the staff, through to the knowledgeable and obliging duty manager, who arranged appropriate alterations to the menu! As everything is freshly prepared, the chef had no problem providing a fish dish without shellfish or chorizo; and they have gluten-free batter for fish and chips. First class meals with good size portions, including big puddings - all delicious. Although not a cheap place to eat, by today’s standards it isn’t expensive either, and certainly worth the money for the quality and size of dishes and above-average customer service. I hadn’t been for years but will soon return. We ate in the bar, which is a proper pub with good ales, and a lively atmosphere - if you want quiet romance then request the dining room.
