After a long day of traveling and moving our daughter into her new apartment, we were hungry and tired. We decided to eat at Metro Diner on Sunday evening as they had wheat-free options that my daughter could eat as well as vegetarian options for her friend. We arrived at 7:25, and they close at 8:00. There were just 2-3 other tables with people there, and they were not at all busy. We were told that they'd go ahead and seat us, but next time, if we were to arrive so late, then we should order ahead. It was clear they weren't happy to serve us at that time, so we just left. If a restaurant isn't accepting new customers during business hours, they should just lock their doors. This was especially frustrating since it's difficult to find a restaurant that has options to eat gluten-free (other than always having a salad). It can be pretty limiting for those who can't eat wheat. We thought we'd found a place that could accommodate us, but, sadly, they were not at all interested in serving us.
