Responding to my husband’s comments because the establishment didn’t actually read his complaints. I have celiacs disease. The waitress had no idea what on the menu could be provided gluten free. I had annotated celiacs on our reservation. This is our first Michelin where the waitress had no idea what could be prepared gluten free. Our appetizer was good. The broccoli in my plate contained 3 weeks worth of my daily recommended sodium. My husbands pork was undercooked and he was never asked how he would like it prepared. So yes, we do expect more from a Michelin than from Applebees. The only person who came to talk to us said he was new to the management position. My husband told him that in 14 Michelin restaurants this year, this is the only one where we would not return. I am not sure if it gets more clear than this. To be clear, we were perfectly willing to talk, but no questions were asked. We would have let our complaint die here, but given your poor response, we reported it to Michelin, and will encourage all the other one star reviews to do the same.

How this place has a Michelin star amazes me. Last year we ate here and also had an awful experience. We said we should give it a second try. My wife has celiacs disease. For the first interaction with the server she had no idea on the menu what could be made gluten free. This is the first time this has happened at a Michelin. The drinks were good. While enjoying them our neighbors food came out. She had ordered the bass plate. She cut into it and it was raw - not like it missed a minute or two in the oven, like sashimi raw. Our octopus appetizer was good. My wife’s short rib was good, but the sides tasted like they were preserved with salt. My pork was decent, albeit undercooked for how I would have liked it, but the waitress never asked how I would like it prepared. We have dined at 20+ Michelins and this is the only one we will never go back. Overall this place is a step above Applebees with a Michelin price and no Michelin experience. Someone should look at who they are paying off annually to keep the star. Just an update here. During our stay we also ate at: Montauk (2x), Left Bank, Matsuhisa, Tavernatta, Chasing Rabbits, and Fall Line. All were exceptionally better than Sweet Basil.

Came in to get a celiac meal to go. They said they would do it. I waited over 20 min for them to come back and tell me that a group just came in and we will no longer be able to accommodate my meal. Poor management customer service.
