A friend that is gluten-free had a salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing; she said it was one of the best salads she has ever enjoyed. I had the Powhatan Club and it was just stacked with meats and cheese, and the Dukes mayo cannot be beat. The Fries were tasty, but the quantity could have been larger. All in all, the food was very good.
We ate outside at one of the wood tables, in the Sun and the main drawback was the noise of the traffic was a little too loud; I confess that on our next trip to this café, the weather will probably be colder, and we will have to dine inside the building.
The one part of our visit that was beyond the control of the owner/staff was that the clientele coming and leaving was comprised of awesomely friendly and courteous people who seem to be frequent customers. For travelers who love to people watch and strike up conversations with interesting local characters, this is a good place to have on the road- & day-trip list.
