Be very careful eating here if you are celiac and/or have any dietary requirements.
When we first entered I spoke to a young waitress who was very knowledgeable. She was able to identify menu items that can be made GF and advised me they have a separate GF fryer.
When we sat down we were looked after by a different waitress and when I reconfirmed they have a separate GF fryer she said 'let me check if it's on today'. When she came back and I asked - is it a fryer only for fries or entirely GF fryer (including for wings etc).
She said sometimes it's altogether and sometimes only fries but she wasn't very convincing so I can't tell you what the deal is with the fryers so I opted out of eating anything that would go to the fryer. First red flag.
I ordered a Caesar salad and my husband ordered soup. (Soup couldn't be made GF - but that's ok because he isn't coeliac).
When food arrived we both had the same bread on our plates - again I confirmed is the bread GF? She said yes. She also said the soup was GF.
I was baffled and confused.
I didn't eat my bread (it was served on a separate plate to the salad so no cc there (hopefully)). But I couldn't be sure so my husband are both of our breads.
Menu states they can do majority of meals GF because all of their sauces are GF yet when I queried few dishes I was just told no.
So staff and kitchen need to liaise and they all need training as I won't be recommending this place to the celiac community.
A hidden gem on the main street of Greystones.
Service was very welcoming, large variety of Italian and coeliac dishes .
A variety of dishes ordered and all as delicious as the next.
Mouth watering desserts .
A must visit 😁
I was taking a short work break but needed to some sustenance as I had skipped breakfast. I walked in, was waves to be a waitress who brought me to a table. Was given a menu within seconds. I ordered a custom breakfast within a minute and it arrived in the time it takes me to poach an egg. The service is unnaturally good. The food was perfect. I loved the toast which is made from really thick sliced bread. Doesn't seem to have any gluten in it otherwise I'd be more bloated than a politician during an election. The atmosphere was chilled. Given the architecture you'd expect a lot of noise batista sounds but these folks seemed to have that nonsense covered. I highly recommend.
What a cute place in an out of the way part of Ireland. First the sign on the hill is hilarious! The shop inside has some really nice items and some wonderful local are. As with all the restaurants we visited in Ireland, they are very accommodating to people with Gluten sensitivity. The selection was nice and they know those on tours need to get in and get out. Great place. You can't go wrong here. We were on a tour with Mark Doherty and Connect the Dots Tours of Ireland (you can't go wrong with Mark either)!
As a coeliac I need to have confidence in what I eat but I wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent and the place has a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly. The only thing that was a negative was the car parking was difficult as it's only a small carpark but in fairness there is a revolving trade using the market so cars are coming and going quick enough.
Overall I'd highly recommend it.
A warm welcome and great customer service... And delicious food, including gluten free options. Our hostess also delt well with some other customers who were somewhat awkward, really showing off her customer service skills.
Came across "The Big Boys" while out looking at pavement & kerbing .
Wonderful menu with some Gluten-Free options.
Food excellent, Service great and entertaining.
All extremely tasty.
Unreal pizza, they always hit their mark. The milkshakes are savage too. Plus, they do gluten-free, so celiacs are covered. Definitely a spot to try if you're in Greystones, even if you aren't. We were traveling home and had to stop in.
I wasn’t sure if I could eat here as I'm a coeliac but I had the beets and eggs served without the bread and it was perfectly gluten free, followed by gluten free lemon drizzle cake. It’s not clear from their website but they can accommodate gluten free diets and the staff are allergen aware. Needless to say, the food was absolutely delicious, the hype is justified. Also, we had 2 toddlers with us and they were given colouring pencils and paper, which was a nice touch.
Great restaurant. Sophisticated atmosphere, cozy ambient, nice background music and staff was very friendly. The dishes are well presented and the food was delicious. They also have gluten free options.
The experience was like feeling at home. We were welcomed very warmly, and they found a great alternative on their menu to prepare a meal suitable for my lactose and gluten intolerance. The food quality and taste were amazing. It was an authentic Italian restaurant. The woman treated us like her own children and it was very pleasant talking to her. However, the restroom had no soap, and the food took a while to arrive.
The staff here are really great, they go the extra mile to help you out. This place is also known as the Wicklow Brewery and they have a tremendous range their own locally and on the premises brewed beers. The food is all seasonally selected and produced as locally as possible. They're also very good at catering for Celiacs and dietary requirements.
