'23/6 1st customer/review: -- This sit-down restaurant is located in Old Fair Oaks, so while parking is free, it and sidewalks are not friendly to mobility impared. This business is a full handful of feet above the limited street parking. Be prepared to walk a block or more if street parking is full. Across from bucolic town-center park that's typically populated with wild chicken adding to the charm. However, on this visit, construction fencing cordoned off the area as upgraded progress to the amphitheater and community center. -- Two small tables on small, elevated sidewalk at front entrance. -- Inside is very simple, low key, no frills with ~8 tables and one nice, helpful, mature waiter. Quiet, subdued ambiance (quiet mariachi background music) makes ideal hearing impared dining choice. Not particularly suited to large groups or small children/strollers. -- Wall/shelf decor artwork (Spanish-style paintings and metal roosters) for sale. -- Alcohol choices consist ofbeer/wine/mimosa simple options, but no margaritas or other hard alcohol options (no bar). -- Thin plastic table topper (over table cloth) slid about when leaned on. -- Chips & salsa (delightful roasted pepper with no heat) not complimentary, rather on appetizer menu, simple menu (though includes pulled pork sandwich, plus vegan and gluten-free options which impressed guest as well as other reviewers). -- Plastic water cups. While well presented to the visual eye, some main entrées served on plastic plates others on ceramic. -- NO obvious desserts/menu, nor any offered by waiter post-lunch. -- Surcharge to use credit card. >> Takeaway: Looking for a tame, low-cost, low-key, Mexican sit-down restaurant? Look no further.

The coffee and staff are fantastic and I love the industrial vibe. They do have some prepackaged gluten-free options but sometimes the run out, There are no gluten free fresh baked goods which is a big down side for me. They keep the temperature of the establishment too cold for me in the winter. I would enjoy my visit more if I could sit in a chair versus on a stool. There are no chairs with backs in the establishment.

ive had a few drinks here and they are good but the place claims to be completely sugar free when some things, like the whey protein powder, contains sucrose and fructose in it. Low sugar and sugar free arent the same, and some people have sugar sensitivities so its important. Itd be nice if they were more clear on not only how much sugar is in something, but what types. Some of their products have stevia, monk fruit extract, and i believe sucralose (not positive about the last one) I like monk fruit extract, but i dislike stevia. I dont like the taste and it hurts my stomach. If there menu had some sort of key that was like this one has stevia, this one has monk fruit (kinda like how some places put gluten free or spicy keys on their menu) that would be wonderful. I really like this place but its hard to know what ingredients youre getting sometimes

As a gluten free family it can be hard to find safe places for us to eat. Carmelitas has always been a supportive place for us to eat. All the staff is knowledgeable about their food and cross contamination. The quality of their food is unmatched! Best Mexican in the area!

I have always been impressed by Mountain mikes. I love their selection of craft beer along with generous selection of salad bar. The toppings are generous and crust is gluten free. The Pizza itself is overly delicious and I have heard countless friends say only good things about mountain mikes.
