Wonderful food and even better staff! It was just a wonderful first experience. As someone who is allergic to gluten I did not end up getting sick. That doesn’t mean people with cilac won’t get sick. I’m just saying I was able to eat here comfortably!
Love this place! Long-time fan. Spontaneously pulled in when I saw it on El Camino, it was the second day it was open.
Delicious, tender chicken that's great in all forms - tenders, sandwiches, toppers on salads, etc. Their breading is gluten-free so we can eat here with friends and families who need GF. Staff is always nice, service is quick.
Gluten free options are available. Even desserts! I enjoyed their chicken enchiladas and a peanut butter cookie. The portions are big. I like their coffee, too. It’s strong, but not bitter, and they have non dairy milk options for those who need it.
It’s one of those places you order at the entrance. I like these when I’m in a hurry since you’ve already paid.
The margaritas here are decent and the ceviche was tasty. A Gluten free Friendly menu is available upon request which helps to put me at ease with ordering food. The staff are friendly. Restaurant is spacious, clean and has cute decor.
Celiac's beware-not gluten safe and not willing to go the extra step to help avoid cross contamination. I called before going with my son and the guy was very brusque on the phone. I asked if they had gluten free dough, but when I asked if he could cook the pizza on a pan or sheet of foil he cut me off 'we do this all the time, it's fine'. No, not if you have celiac disease it's not. My son's sport team was eating there and I hated for him to miss out, so I called back and this time got a more helpful girl who right away told me they cook GF dough on a separate surface. When I asked if they use the sauce/spoon that touches the regular pizza she put me on hold to check. When she came back on the line she assured me they would not do this. Husband went with my son and the same guy that answered the phone told him he wouldn't get a separate sauce. He said he's been doing this a long time and people "with your allergy" do just fine. So no, we didn't eat there. Jake's of San Jose does say they will change the sauce FYI. I wish places that attempt to cater to those who need to eat gluten free due to celiac disease would actually educate their staff for simple ways to avoid cross contamination so everyone can be included, especially little kids. This isn't some kind of dietary preference but a serious auto-immune disease that shouldn't be treated like a huge inconvenience. Really, would a fresh sauce hurt your bottom line when you can just use it later?
Been here a couple times already and yeah if you’re vegetarian or vegan, this place is the one. Like, stop scrolling, this is it.
Tons of variety. Like, the kind of menu where you stare at it for 10 minutes thinking, am I hungry or just emotionally unprepared to make a decision?
Had the spicy noodle soup before fantastic. Fresh spring rolls? Honestly hard to beat. But this time I went for the house special rice clay pot and it blew me away. Full of flavor, perfectly balanced, and straight-up comfort food for the soul.
Also tried the BBQ gluten vermicelli refreshing and super flavorful. Doesn’t even feel like “vegetarian food,” it just tastes good.
Showed up on a Saturday around 2pm thinking I could sneak in between the lunch rush…absolutely wrong. The place was packed. But for good reason.
This is definitely one of those spots you keep coming back to just to explore the menu. Every dish feels like a new main character.
First I ordered a medium size pizza vegetarian pizza because that was the option for gluten free bread, it came out too 31$. So instead I ordered a small instead. The taste was ok. If I do come back I probably order the chilli paneer.
Updating my review came back, for lunch and what difference, the sandwich was made perfect the gluten free wrap was perfect, the atmosphere was amazing, definitely will be back
DAY3- SICK AS A DOG- NOT GF
Hobee’s is a fabulous restaurant. But! The Sunnyvale one has failed the gluten-free test.
If you are gluten-free by necessity, the Sunnyvale Hobee’s isn’t worth the risk. I ordered poached eggs and gluten free potatoes. The potatoes were obviously cooked on the same grill as pancakes. I’ve been violently ill and in agonizing pain for three days! An obvious gluten reaction.
Do the workers think it’s funny to cause people horrible pain and suffering? Are they lazy? Not properly trained?
The Mountain View and Palo Alto Hobee’s do extremely well with gluten-free preparation. Try these ones if you’d like to enjoy a gluten-free Hobee’s meal
This place has great Margaritas! Chips and salsa are yummy! A few gluten free options on the menu such as, fajitas and tequila prawns (as pictured) I love going here and sitting outside. Pet friendly! Friendly staff, and mostly reasonable prices. I always enjoy coming back here!
This is my go-to place for dinner whenever I'm in Sunnyvale. The food here is bursting with flavor! I'll definitely take some photos next time. I absolutely love the salad with roasted vegetable topping, and the lentil soup, baba ghanoush, and hummus make for delicious sides. The sauces are also on point! If you're not gluten-free, my husband highly recommends the za'atar chips on the salad. My family also enjoys their meat dishes. While it's primarily a take-out restaurant, they do have a few tables if you prefer to dine in.
Amazing place my go to. Staff is friendly and polite and always gets our order right. Being gluten it’s hard to find places and this place always get its right. Only reason for the 4 stars is the gluten free bread this time seemed extra drier then normal but other then that amazing experience again
We have eaten here twice. Great experience both times. Lot of vegetarian and gluten free options. I love how cozy and warm this place is. Delicious food!
The food is so delicious. I keep coming back every chance I can. If you don't know SAJJ I'd say it's like the Chipotlé of Mediterranean food, but with more options and lots of veggies. Almost entirely gluten-free (celiac here) too.
Good happy hour here! $3 off starters. We ordered Margaritas, the first round was great. The second round the Margs tasted like soap! The wait staff was kind.. she comped the drinks and gave us a new round to make it right. The shrimp tacos and carnitas were good! Street tacos are the only gluten free starters on the menu. Slaw and fried onions on the side (slaw has dairy).
I order from here regularly. But ate at the restaurant for the first time. Lot of vegetarian and gluten free options. Food is good 😋 especially the variety of Bao 💯
Love the burn garlic fried rice! Service was also great 😊
This is a family-run small business, and it is wonderful! It is run by a couple who treat their few employees like family, and the food shares their love!
They have options for anyone, so if you don’t see what you want, call them and ask for it. The Follow Your Dream roll came from a craving during my pregnancy, and it has made it onto their menu. Their food is fabulous, and their service is wonderful. Please, support this small business, and then enjoy your meal!
In my included photos:
House made Miso soup
Steamed Edamame
Avocado roll
Grilled Salmon Kama
Chicken Karaage
Asparacado roll
California Roll
Shrimp on Fire
Follow Your Dream
special order: Gluten Free Asparacado roll (steamed asparagus with avocado, and add cream cheese)
It was all delicious as always!
To be honest, it's a place that had to grow on me.
The food is not overly oily, spicy, creamy, salty, etc. Perhaps because it's not too stimulating, it may lack an initial "wow" , and I see other people calling the food bland.
But now, I've come to appreciate that the food is fresh, healthy, clean, and even plated with care. You don't have to regret eating it after.
There are other details I've come to appreciate:
- No loud music blasting
- People are friendly.. and I always see young families enjoying themselves
- The tea doesn't develop that 'film' that tea often does.. and you can add sugar yourself to taste
- Clear gluten free and Jain options
All in all, it's a place that you can keep coming back to.
We ordered 7 pizzas for a work event and had many different dietary needs to accommodate. They were excellent and everyone loved the food and flavors. The paneer vegetarian pizza was a hit and the gluten free & dairy free pizza was even delicious!
I didn’t eat there, but I was asked about service and atmosphere lol… My sister ordered me a pizza from you guys recently like just now… I got a gluten-free veggie something… I think it was actually veggie mountain? And all I did was remove olives because I usually only like olives in brine, but now I wonder if it would have been good with the olives. I love the taste and texture, and I love that you guys have gluten-free vegetarian options for the people like me that aren’t necessarily picky eaters, but do stick to a particular diet of just no meat or gluten… This pizza is bomb and like if I get the chance to eat out again, I would like to try the same pizza again but next time I will be adventurous and try it with the black olives on the pizza 😹 My birthday is in like 3 weeks I think actually and so I might be able to eat out again and I will pick you guys for my turn to pick and my sister and I will pick it up! Thank you :)
The ambiance at this restaurant is serene with soothing Nepali music in the background. They even take music requests and offer an open mic! I found the open mic to be a very memorable experience and enjoyable with friends.
The seating options are plentiful, and the outdoor area was perfect for me and my little pet Bella. Despite the high foot traffic, the servers remain friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
I love it here because of their considerate menu. I love how they have incorporated gluten free options, vegetarian options and even halal options on their menu!
Recently we utilized their catering service over the weekend, and they exceeded our expectations. The food arrived on time, beautifully presented, and clearly labeled. As some of our guests were vegetarian, it was very important for us to have clear information. Over all and most importantly the food was the star of the show, everything was absolutely delicious.
Amazing food and very friendly staff. Food has authentic Indian taste and is made fresh. The Buffet has lots of options. Highly recommend it. They do have gluten free Roti as well which is rare and amazing.
I have a gluten allergy and they were very kind to make me something from scratch that was 100% gluten free. Great service, not crowded, and delicious food!
Really enjoyed our food from Mom's Biryani. Staff were super friendly and we loved the biryani and butter chicken in particular. Highly recommended for a delicious take out. Food was also gluten free, and there were lots of vegetarian options.
The food was excellent and staff was unusually attentive to my need to eat gluten free. The server suggested the chicken and modified the sides (quinoa salad was a nice touch). The hummous and cheese dip(?) was memorable. It looked like a nice place, and still far exceeded my expectations.
