Celiac accommodating

This place is a 10/10 restaurant, between the great service and the amazing food I 100% recommend. I have celiac disease (severe gluten allergy) and finding restaurants that offer gluten free options and no risk of cross contamination is hard, but this place had almost all gluten free options with dedicated fryer for gluten free and the gluten free food comes out w an allergy sticker. The waitress we had was the sweetest and she was very knowledgeable of celiac/gluten free and I didn’t worry my food being safe for me to eat at all. Great restaurant for everyone and especially people with celiac like me!

I went there for the first time today with some friends and the barista was kind and very helpful in explaining their drink options. I got a chai latte for the first time and it was amazing! I usually don't do drinks with caffeine but I'm glad I gave it a try. My friends order a flat white and a matcha latte which they both enjoyed. I also tried their lemon poppy seed muffin (which is gluten free) and their blueberry scone. Both were delicious and a must try! They do have limited bakery items but it seems that they do the little they have very well. The environment is pretty chill and they have a good amount of seating. 🙂 ⭐

I have been very displeased in recent months with Giddy's service. I always want to support Jewish businesses, but the service here has been quite disappointing. Back in February 2024, at the East Brunswick location, I walked in an hour before closing to order 4 plain slices to go. They told me it would take 12 minutes to prepare and asked me to take a seat while they made it. The store was fairly empty; I was one of the only people seated at a table. 15 minutes later, I asked about the status, and they said it would take another 10 minutes, to please be patient. A full 30 minutes into my order, I asked the owner about the status again, and he said they did not make the pizza because I hadn't paid for it. When I said that they hadn't told me to pay, just to have a seat, he couldn't care less. They felt no responsibility. The only person who felt bad about the situation was the delivery person, who was leaving for a delivery as I first entered the store and was shocked to see me still waiting for 4 slices when he returned 40 minutes later. Last week (June 2024), I went with a friend to the new Highland Park location. My friend ordered a gluten free personal pie and a diet coke, while I ordered one plain slice--and we paid for it on the spot. 25 minutes in, nothing, not even the diet coke. I asked about the status, and they had no idea what order we were talking about. Once again, didn't feel the slightest bit bad. I have heard of other instances of Giddy's forgetting about people's orders and providing excuses that it's really busy. I have friends who do not consistently keep Kosher and have opted to go to non-Kosher pizza places because of poor service they have heard of or experienced at Giddy's. Their food is fine, but their service is awful. Giddy's lost a customer in me, and I look forward to the day when Jerusalem Pizza is up and running again as I have always been pleased with their service.
