Wow! New Jersey has the best breakfast joints. This one isn't far from Asbury/Belmar, off 35 in a strip mall. If you're afraid of sugar, go somewhere else! They specialize in French toast, but have plenty of other items available. Lots of fruit, whole grains, and gluten-free options available.
The coffee bar didn't appeal (at least $5 each), and the hot chocolate laid an egg.
However, the service was attentive, welcoming, and energetic. Thanks for the loaded hash with pork roll! Makes NJ proud.
The food (oh my goodness the food) is sooooooo delicious. Our last visit officially ranked it as my family's favorite restaurant! With one member who has a gluten allergy, finding a place that can handle it properly isn't easy...and even harder is finding a place with amazing food who knows how to handle a gluten free customer. Everything is top notch...our favorite dish...the spicy garlicky salmon! wow...perfection on a plate.
Great food and service! Wait staff very attentive and helpful. Awesome bread, garlic bread, pasta, and pizza. For those fellow gluten free people, cauliflower pizza was great!
Stopped by for an early dinner tonight with no reservation. No problem, they seated us immediately in the dining room. Impressive building with an 1,800 gallon fish tank separating the bar area. It was well kept with beautiful fish, a good sign.
We skipped cocktails on a Tuesday and went for a 3 course meal. Started with Hot and Sour soup, which was excellent. Lots of content and tasted great.
We also had a sushi roll opting for the Romance Roll. Tuna, salmon, wrapped around rice in the shape of hearts, it was a work of art and delicious, exceeding our expectations. Definitely order again.
For dinner, we got two dishes to share. First was a special Singapore Mei Fun with shrimp. Nice thin rice noodles and listed as gluten-free. It's just had a hint of spice. Second was Chicken Blosom served with white rice. Again, just a hint of spice. I would get it hotter next time.
Overall, the service was very good, the food was excellent and the restaurant had a fun atmosphere. We will be going back, maybe to try Hibachi next time.
We rediscovered Mossuto's after 20 years. Completely utterly amazed at the beautiful bar counters. We didn't know they enclosed the breezeway. We sat under the skylight. Service was amazing. Owner Biagio is delightful! This is definitely are new favorite place. Food was amazing and they were able to accommodate for gluten free. We love the old world charm ambiance with antiques everywhere. Trevor is their new chef! Super excited to return!
The staff is always very friendly when you visit this location. If you are on lunch break it is hit or miss as there is usually a long line around this time. In my experience only one of the two sandwich counters are open so it makes the process a little slow if you are trying to get food and head back to work. If you are gluten free there are options here for you. They have gluten free bread for a little extra cost, chips that are compliant and gluten free cookies. They will ask you if it is an allergy or preference. If you state allergy they will change knives and gloves and keep your bread on a sheet of paper as to help with cross contamination. This process is highly impressive as they seem to really care about individuals with allergies. If you join their shore points club on your birthday they will send you a coupon for a free sub and drink, this is very generous.
