The food was delicious with surprisingly large portions. My wife was able to find some gluten free options that were equally satisfying. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We came just before the dinner rush so we were able to sit immediately. I really enjoyed the architectural design elements that gave the interior more character and ambience.
It is hard to find good quality food that is gluten free when you have Celiac and Dermatitis Herpetiformis (the skin celiac). Barrio queen has a lot of gluten free options. I've had the tacos before and they were okay but tonight I tried The Queen Enchiladas with chicken, black beans, and rice and it was by far the best enchilada I've ever had!! I highly recommend it. My mother-in-law got the same thing with the beans and veggies and wasn't as impressed with it as I was, though. She is more a tamale person but they had run out of tamales. I would definitely recommend this place. The chips and salsa are also gluten free. The chips are corn and fried in a separate fryer than the other food, which is awesome. The chips are extremely well done and I couldn't stop eating them.
I really enjoyed the food and the staff was fast and friendly. My wife, who is gluten free was able to find things she could eat and I liked the healthier style of Mexican food. The prices were reasonable too.
Great Carne Asada Quesadilla, it's made with Mazeca which is Corn Flour, so naturally gluten free 😋 I have celiac disease so makes it hard to find places to eat but I don't get sick when I eat this particular meal. It's a huge portion of food, so very shareable, and their Esquimo de chocolate(Chocolate Shake)are bomb! I will be back again soon for more! Yes, they have a kids menu and real fruit drinks. The Agua de Melon is bomb, and of course, Mexican Coca-Cola is available 😀 enjoy.
