This is one of the best gluten free burgers I’ve had anywhere. They also have vegan burgers and do a great job with them, also. The bun didn’t fall apart, which usually happens, and our burgers were stacked and looked great. Our burgers were all make correctly, the fries were crispy and the portions were generous. If you’re not lucky enough to eat here in October, you’d be happy to stop here in another month when you don’t have such a wait (and they still do take out outside of October!) Also? The day before Halloween and their bathroom is one of the cleanest I’ve seen during the entire month of October. Props, Village Tavern crew, for offering a nice bathroom to your customers during the hardest month of the year to keep it nice!!

My family and I were there in Salem a week or so back. We passed by this restaurant and stopped by. The inside was nice and cool, since it was one of the hotter days. Our waitress was really really sweet and thoughtful. My only draw back. I have celiacs and was delighted to see a variety of choices for gluten free. One being chicken bites on the appetizer. Though I did see it had teriyaki in it. Soy sauce is not gluten free unless specifically made that way. So I had asked her to double check if it was. They were not made with gluten free soy sauce. Unfortunately, it did put me at an uneasiness from there on. So I had to double check on certain things. The waitress was very kind to double check everything I asked about if she wasn’t sure. But the food was delicious. If you’re only staying away from gluten, it would have been fine but with allergies it’s a little more important to know exactly what is and is not gluten free.
