Nowhere on the menu was it listed that they had grilled or gluten free options and the staff didn't ask. When they brought out an extremely over cooked dry deep fried chicken I said I couldn't eat it. The manager offered to only take half off. After making the point that im not going to pay for something I can't eat they said they'd take it off. We left without my husband eating as they staff was short with us after that and rude. Will not be back.
Edit. They did NOT offer an alternative option. At no point did they ever answer my questions of a grilled option whatsoever. Absolute lies to their reply to my comments.
This pizza parlor has a fun atmosphere with arcade games and a rustic interior.
I am gluten intolerant, and the GF pizza crust was OK. The toppings were delicious. The pizza is made in a common kitchen, so cross contamination was an issue. Those who aren't GF loved it! They had cheesy garlic bread as well as pizza. We had to wait over 40 minutes for our pizzas, which I thought was a long time on a weeknight.
Great vegan cheese for the pizza! We love the thin crust. The servers are also always attentive and friendly and had helpful suggestions for gluten-free and dairy-free items for our group.
If you're in Columbia then you should stop to eat at Shakespeare pizza. I do once a year at least. 3 locations but my favorite is the south and off campus. I had a gluten free crust. Very good.
Delicious food. Friendly staff. Additionally, the server was kind enough to help me identify gluten free options on the menu (Celiac). While there weren't extensive options, the pad thai with shrimp was delicious!
My daughter was in Columbia for a soccer trip. Her original stop was at Shakespeare Pizza. My daughter has celiac disease. Shakespeare pizza was not willing to wipe their counters off to make a clean pizza, for her. They let her know that they don't have time to accommodate her. Her and my husband headed over to Pizza tree. They couldn't have been more accommodating and she said the gluten free pizza was absolutely delicious! And she was symptom free! Highly recommend!
We had a private dinner in the back room for a work event with about 25 people, many from out of the state. Billy was fabulous to work with while planning the event and Caitlin our waitress was fantastic. I would highly recommend Room 38 to anyone who needs a casual and fun space to get together. Food was great and drinks even better! I have celiacs, so I am unable to eat gluten, and the staff answered all of my questions and I felt very safe eating here. I will be back next time I visit Columbia for sure!
The bartender was very kind, helpful, and attentive. She was really working hard to make sure everyone got what they needed! They have gluten free options available for people with celiac.
Our server was great and helpful. They have gluten free options for those with celiac. The fries are cooked in the same fryer as breaded things so the fries are off limits unfortunately, but there’s plenty to choose from.
This is personally my favorite go-to COMO dining spot. They have some knockout bbq, as well as some fantastic signature cocktails! They have the most expansive bbq menu I have ever seen, with options for everyone! (vegan and gluten free) If you are visiting COMO you HAVE to make a stop at this beautiful establishment!
I had never eaten at Pickleman’s before tonight because I didn’t think they had a gluten free “sandwich” option…. And when I saw it was a lettuce wrap I was instantly not into it BUT something told me to try it and I’m so glad I did! AMAZING! It is so hard for me to find food I can eat - gluten free, dairy free - but now I found it! I also had the walnut cranberry salad! It was huge and delicious…. Just got without cheese or egg! Everything was very fresh and crunchy like a veggie should be. The dressing was very good too! I got 3-4 meals worth of food for close to $35 which is pretty darn good too!
