Unfortunately, my experience at Betty’s Burgers in Toowoomba was deeply disappointing and frustrating, particularly as a long-time vegan who is careful about dietary choices. When placing our order, we requested the vegan puff rice patty on a vegan roll. We also asked whether vegan cheese and vegan mayo were available, but the staff member assisting us confidently stated that they were not. We clarified our vegan preferences multiple times during the ordering process. Eventually, we opted for the patty with just tomato sauce due to the lack of vegan condiments. When the burger arrived, I ate half of it, assuming it was the vegan puff rice patty. I even remarked on how impressive it was, thinking it must be a particularly realistic plant-based option. However, my friend, who had dined at Betty’s before, questioned it. Upon confirming with the kitchen staff, I discovered to my horror that I had been served a classic beef patty instead of the vegan option I had ordered. As someone who has been vegan for 30 years, this was incredibly distressing. I immediately brought it to the attention of the front counter staff, only to be met with an explanation that they thought I “just wanted the gluten-free vegan roll,” completely ignoring my explicit request for a vegan patty and condiments. This demonstrates a clear lack of understanding of dietary requirements and an inability to properly process or double-check orders. What makes this worse is that other establishments, typically review the order with the customer to ensure everything is correct. Betty’s Burgers failed at every step, from taking the order to serving the correct item. I cannot recommend Betty’s Burgers to anyone with specific dietary preferences or allergies. This experience highlights a lack of care, competence, and accountability, which could have serious implications for those with dietary restrictions or food intolerances.

We had a great dinner experience at Vapiano Grand Central. Two of our group of four were gluten free and there were plenty of good options for us. Pots of herbs on each table were a lovely fresh touch. The staff were very friendly and accomodating and there was a pleasant hum of music and conversation that all gave the restaurant a good vibe on a midweek night. I will be recommending Vapiano’s to my family.

Tldr: Fantastic Coffee and Amazing food. Even pleased the harshest of critics, my mum. Fantastic little breakfast spot. I brought my mum here and she is a very hard person to please 😂. But she actually loved this place so that has to speak volumes. The coffee was the perfect temp and tasted great. I ordered a dirty chai and mum got a flat white. As for food mum had a strange request and got a toasted ham and onion sandwich with no cheese on gluten free bread. They triple checked that they had everything right and even asked if she wanted the onion cooked or not. Very thorough. I just got Korean fried chicken with a spicy sauce (yes for breakfast, it was on the breakfast menu 😂) and it was fantastic, for a non Asian restaurant they definitely delivered. Love the atmosphere and the staff too they were extremely friendly and will go the extra mile for you. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're around or even near the hooper center.

This chef goes above & beyond for me and my son’s food allergies & that itself is SO refreshing! She will cook gluten free chips in a seperate pan, no place does this for us. The food & taste is sensational. The chef is very creative with dishes, so if you have allergies and it’s not on the menu she will design meals to share and she never fails us. Thankyou George banks. 🏦 incredible value, especially for two!
