A superb experience at this restaurant, which offers gluten-free options with Sicilian specialties, from starters to desserts.
Very good, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices.
I recommend it.
Even though we have been customers for a long time, last night apart from the appetizers, I ate a horrible gluten-free pizza, the edge was very high, about 4 cm, the raw food was inedible and the pizza inside was also raw and tiny in size. I complained about everything, and the answer was we will tell the pizza chef to lower the edge. In addition, for each course they put a supplement of 2 euros for gluten-free, not only for the pizza which I can understand, but for each appetizer including the sorbet a celiac pays 2 euros more per course, shameful.
A restaurant with excellent food and many gluten-free options. The family atmosphere is very pleasant. We ordered Pasta alla Norma and gluten-free Tortellini.
My friend and I ate here. Mine was gluten free, Incredible! I couldn’t tell and I also couldn’t finish it. I’ve never not been able to finish my pizza. So tasty! Would recommend
Always a great experience. I always find competence and efficiency, they are very kind and put you at ease. Then the pizzas are spectacular, I also eat gluten free and for me one of the best pizzas in Palermo. Good guys keep it up 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Was voted one of the top 50 pizza places in Italy in 2024.
10/10. Best gluten free pizza we have had in a while! So so good. The simpler pizza we had was tastier than the Innovazione pizza we had (Diavola was more flavoursome than the Spilinga). Atmosphere is beautiful- the outside area is gorgeous and the interior is classy and rustic. Attentive service, too. Can't go wrong. If you're a caeliac especially, please give this place a try! Pizzas are between €9- €16, with an additional €2.50 charge for gluten free dough.
One of the best gluten-free pizzas we've ever eaten. Highly recommended for people with celiac disease. There's no extra charge for the gluten-free pizza. They use a separate oven. The owner was also very nice. Highly recommended. We'd be happy to come back.
Delicious food and excellent variety of food. Including desserts.
But the staff isn’t trained!! The waiter brought my gluten free pizza in the same hand with gluten pizza directly touching it!!
Plate with gluten pizza was on my plate with gluten free pizza
Great attention to gluten-free, freshly cooked food. We ate on site at the tables on the main street, a pleasant and relaxed environment. Highly recommended. The potatoes are delicious.
Small but nice place, welcoming atmosphere, we took 1 gluten-free appetizer, 1 gluten-free pizza with tomato, buffalo mozzarella, bacon and parmesan flakes, and 2 with gluten, 1 Zarina and 1 Margherita. As far as I'm concerned it was the best gluten-free pizza I've ever tasted before... absolutely satisfied
Very nice place with outdoor tables and indoor area, we were there for a pizza to celebrate a colleague's retirement. I found a good choice in the proposals also original, various types of dough also for celiacs. The service was impeccable, little waiting good coordination in the release of the dishes. The place is very nice and the food is good, I recommend it
Excellent quality pizza with various types of dough, including gluten free. Availability of seats both indoors and in the dehor in front of the restaurant, capable of accommodating large groups (we were 22..!). To try again to taste another dough among all those available 👍
I got a gluten-free and dairy-free cake due to an intolerance not only to gluten but also to casein. A pleasant, tasty and wonderful experience because I would have challenged anyone to notice the difference from a normal cake. Taste experience far beyond the wildest expectations. A balance of flavors and goodness appreciated by all. My compliments to the creator of this wonderful dessert. Fabio Leo
An experience to remember – thank you “La Dolce Vita in Giardino”!
We had dinner at this wonderful restaurant and we can only express our gratitude for the care and love with which we were welcomed. We were a “beautifully complicated” table, composed of 12 people, including one with gluten intolerance — but our every need was listened to, understood and satisfied with extraordinary kindness and professionalism.
The staff literally pampered us from start to finish, going beyond all expectations. Always smiling, proactive, available, very prepared. The service was punctual, impeccable, with a genuine friendliness that made us feel truly at home.
The food? Excellent, both in quality and presentation. The location is splendid, with attention to detail, and you can breathe an atmosphere of passion and dedication everywhere. The owner was also present, precise, attentive: a clear sign of a management that deeply loves what it does.
“La Dolce Vita in Giardino” is much more than a restaurant: it is a place where you are welcomed with the heart. We will definitely be back. Congratulations to all the staff!
Very organized place, welcoming and professional staff, owner of a kindness of times gone by, in addition to explaining the menu, they also suggested proposals to satisfy the requests, my request as I am Celiac was very clear and with a very high organizational capacity, what can I say thank you and see you next time 💪💪
Gluten-free, no problem!
I had spaghetti with lobster from the daily special. It was super delicious and very plentiful. There was a whole lobster on the plate, with plenty of boned pieces in the creamy sauce. Luckily, I didn't have an appetizer, so it's a shame I missed the desserts. A sommelier comes to the table and annoys me with the wine selection. For this quality, the price is more than justified. Highly recommended; please make a reservation in advance.
We remembered the really good gluten-free and traditional pizzas, but tonight's disappointment was truly unique. We waited more than 40 minutes to take away pizzas with rubbery dough and poor seasoning both in quantitative and qualitative terms. See photo
Disappointing experience overall
We walked around 40 minutes to get to the restaurant, so we were really looking forward to it – but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The staff were quite rude, and when we sat under a fan (it was hot), we were asked to move.
The food was just okay. The carbonara was extremely salty, and the pistachio pasta with burrata came with a tiny burrata – not what you'd expect for the price. Also worth noting: there’s an extra €2 charge per dish for gluten-free options, and they don’t serve café americanos.
Wouldn’t go out of my way for it again.
What a huge disappointment.
The two of us got two pizzas.
A gluten-free Romana and a margherita with mushrooms whose cooking is rather doubtful as they looked like they were defecated by a seagull.
In any case, we go beyond sight and eat them, terrible, very poor quality of both the dough and the ingredients (as simple as they were).
But that's not all, we also had considerable difficulty digesting the pizzas, which literally remained on our stomachs.
Final gem, two pizzas (one Roman and one Margherita with mushrooms) two cokes and a bottle of water €43.50, a robbery!!!
If they had been good I wouldn't have said anything, but two crazy things and excessive prices for the poor quality (saying quality is a compliment)!
Huge disappointment!!
Never never again
An experience that goes beyond a simple meal, each dish tells a story with authentic flavors and attention to detail that conquers from the first taste, everything is really excellent, high quality food, the welcome was amazing, very attentive to our needs, the gluten-free pizza is crumbly and delicious, never eaten like this, everything is truly wonderful, I recommend it to everyone to try it

It's not just that the food is really good. And not even attention to dietary needs (gluten-free, contamination-free, lactose-free, etc.). Let's not even talk about the speed. Let's also talk about the staff who are friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely return also because our celiac princess of almost 4 years really enjoyed it.
The terrace is a fantastic place. The staff was immediately friendly and accommodating. The food at this restaurant is enhanced in preparation and presentation, with special attention to gluten free. We will be returning Sunday evening for our last night here in Sicily and to enjoy their fantastic sushi.
Verdechiaro is a true gem! Every visit is met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a sense of care that makes dining here a pleasure. The chef’s creativity shines through in every dish beautifully presented, full of flavor, and thoughtfully prepared.
We especially appreciate the wide range of gluten-free and vegan options, all part of their commitment to healthy, nourishing cuisine. It’s clear that quality and inclusivity are at the heart of everything they do, including beautifully designed spaces featuring light green (verde chiaro) items.
Thank you to the whole team at Verdechiaro for consistently delivering such a delightful experience!
We had a great evening here on Monday me and my wife choice the restaurant as it did a lot of gluten free for the wife so she had a great selection to choose from . Service was good could not do enough for you and the food was really good as you can see in one of photos for starters the wife had gluten free bruschetta was really good bread was soft and crispy on the outside , for main I had the fish fry prawns , fish , squid was tasty. We were sat inside chatting to a local man we were for ages having a laugh would highly recommend.
After inquiring about gluten-free cuisine (my celiac daughter) they made us sit near the kitchen. Looking at how the orders were carried out, and having noticed the passage of bread with gluten in the kitchen, given that any of the staff came and went from a kitchen where they should be at risk of contamination, I took the liberty of asking the waitress for information and she replied in a pedantic and annoyed way and above all with untruthful answers (the staff in the kitchen absolutely don't use gloves, anyone who touches SG dishes after touching bread and dishes with gluten).
He didn't pay for his rudeness, as he walked away he called me a "pain in the ass".
Having paid the bill, I kindly pointed out what had happened to the owner. Nothing resolved because in the end I also argued with him who also raised his voice.
Terrible experience.
,
Among the best pizzerias in the city and with particular attention to celiac disease and lactose intolerance.
Super nice environment with rooms all furnished differently (the one with the monkeys is beautiful). The tented exterior is welcoming, and in summer you can breathe the air of the garden on Piazza Sant'Oliva.
The selection of wines and beers available is excellent.
I highly recommend trying Palino.
Title: Never Again
I'm sorry but we didn't have dinner with family, we opted for cuisine instead of pizza but it was disappointing, flat and at an unjustifiable cost. Advice for restaurateurs... Rethink the kitchen menu and remove the things you can't handle (fish). Have a policy about what the season offers. Throw the pesto in the jar for goodness sake!!! Positive note: the gluten-free pizza dough is really good! What a pity!
I hope that even if negative this review can be appreciated in a constructive way, I gave it 3 and no less because in my opinion the pizza part is good but I don't think I will return to try it. Never say never! Friendly staff open to... Advice!
English: We went to the tavern for dinner, the staff were very kind and super helpful in explaining the dishes. One of us was celiac but had no problem because they have gluten-free pasta, the same for main courses and appetizers. Phenomenal food, pasta full of sauce and really generous portions: a first course was enough for two people, but because of the goodness we literally cleaned the plates (even though in our opinion they were 180/200 grams of pasta). We also had white wine and mixed appetizers with olives, caponata, sweet and sour pumpkin and milk croquettes, all delicious. I highly recommend the place to anyone passing through Palermo also for the characteristic Sicilian atmosphere given by the furniture that I found to be the icing on the cake to the delicious food. For 4 of us we spent about €20 each with a large appetizer, 1 enormous first course each, wine, water and coke, a price that I find very fair for the good food and service offered
Friendly atmosphere, partially open kitchen. An excellent place for breakfast/snacks and lunches also for veg and celiacs. Very important is that the raw materials are fresh. I will return
Very friendly service. There's oat milk and gluten-free toast and a gluten-free muffin. The lattemaciato with oat milk was very good. There is also brown sugar, which tastes delicious with the milk foam. I'd love to come back.
We had a great experience!
The food was great!
Sea Bream is a must try imo, so is the clam pasta!
They have gluten free options, which is a big plus for us!
When we got in (lunch time), it was packed with locals. Which was a great sign. We were not disappointed.
We would come back to try other dishes, if we have enough time.

This restaurant does not appear to be open at 12 midday as it says on the website. We arrived at 12 only to be told it didn’t open until 12.15. We could have booked online for 12 so I suspect it was just laziness. Perhaps update your online opening times or tell your staff to let people in at 12. Can’t comment on food which did appear to have gluten free options.
This place was recommended by a local, the food is delicious and authentic yet with a twist. It is mainly Neapolitan pizzas but also gluten free options for all!
MUST EAT in Palermo if you’re looking for Italian pizza!
Also the service is extremely professional, special thanks to Samuel for his sweet care!
A place found by chance in the historic center of Palermo, but a little away from the main streets, due to the possibility of eating some gluten-free dishes. I must say that it met expectations: I ate a delicious mussel soup (served with gluten-free bread on the side) and spaghetti with sea urchins, with good seasoning but unfortunately a little overcooked. Honest bill and generous portions, fairly fast service, air conditioning throughout.
Very nice place, tidy, clean, very professional staff, particular attention to the waitress Francesca who, being Celiac, was able to recommend me a lunch worth 10.... all delicious, definitely recommended to be done again 👍👏
Except for president.
Stunning place: truly Sicilian dishes, very fresh fish, fresh pasta also for celiacs and an uncommon kindness from all the staff. Well done Salvo and all his staff. I forgot: the cellar is extraordinary.
Go there. We will be back.
