Twice I ordered from here and twice I got a wrong order. Once they got a non halal burger to my place even though it was clearly stated that the burger had to be chicken and no bacon. Another time they got me a non veggie and gluten free burger instead of the plant ve. They are just so unattentive and careless. Never ordering from them again.
Great pizzas and drinks at Franco Manca Chiswick this evening! The staff were helpful and attentive, took care of my need for a gluten free pizza base, and the food was fresh and tasted amazing! Will be coming back for sure.
Delicious food & Excellent service by Nasir. We went on a very busy evening & the service was amazing.Food came really quick. Highly Recommended for Gluten Free & Vegan options.
We found this lovely cafe accidentally while visiting from Derbyshire, the staff are lovely and the food is incredible. My diet is gluten and dairy free and so had the gluten free vegetable flan which was SO good. In fact it was so good we went back the next day for lunch too, taking my sister who lives locally. Thank you for the warm welcome and the lovely food, if you would share your flan recipe I would be eternally grateful, especially the pastry which was melt in the mouth delicious!
awful experience really do not recommend. i rarely leave reviews but this was so bad i have to. i have a gluten allergy, which i specified when ordering. the person serving me was unempathetic and did not reassure me that what i was ordering was gluten-free. i don’t think they even knew themselves, and didn’t bother to check. after eating the bacon, i was told by one of the servers that it contained gluten. the staff members were rude and unempathetic. i was offered a refund for the breakfast which i was happy about. additionally, my friend ordered one of the smoothies and saw the person behind the bar sneeze into it which is a good reflection on the hygiene in that place. as i said i usually am able to look past minor errors / mistakes as long as they are met with solutions or basic empathy. i left feeling both ill and unhappy
Our children had gifted us a voucher for La Trompette so we opted for the fixed price lunch at £57. With no alcohol but lots of soft drinks and cost plus options, including the 12.5% service charge, we paid under £190 for 2.
A relaxed service (we weren't in a hurry), gluten free options (including bread) and despite being almost full, you could talk without shouting (yes, looking at you River Cafe). The food was delicious - my rhubarb dessert was outstanding, beautifully cooked to a silken smooth texture.
Each dish was presented exquisitely, no fancy smancy ingredients just excellent primary products incredibly cooked. Well done La Trompette, all in all one of the best meals I've eaten in a long time.
Don't bother with the cocktails. Cashew chicken was in a horrible mushy batter, the veg stir fry didn't look remotely fresh. The satay and pad thai were OK so be fair, so if you do end up here those are probably the safest options. The service was attentive but the downstairs (where the loos are) had a gagging stench about it. All you can say in this place's defence is that it's very reasonably priced! Oh, and there are plenty of gluten free options.
I arrived at Silver Birch with high expectations, drawn in by the restaurant’s reputation for creativity and its clear ambition to achieve excellence. The passion of the kitchen was unmistakable, yet, regrettably, several serious missteps compromised the overall experience.
The beef tartare, typically a dish that exemplifies precision and finesse, was hampered by an unpleasant and unexpected textural issue—pieces of unchewable cartilage. This was a disruptive element that should never have left the kitchen. Similarly, the Devon Crab, otherwise delicately prepared, concealed a sharp shell fragment, rendering the dish not only uncomfortable but also dangerous to eat.
Perhaps most disappointing was the kitchen’s inflexibility. A much-heralded carrot course, traditionally accompanied by a gluten-containing cheese sauce, was served bare when no alternative could be offered—despite prior notification of dietary restrictions. What arrived at the table felt more like an afterthought than the carefully composed dish I had anticipated, leaving the presentation and flavor lacking the sophistication one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
At over £200 per person, these misjudgments became all the more pronounced. There is undoubtedly potential at Silver Birch, but if it aspires to truly compete at the top level, these inconsistencies need addressing. The foundation is there, but refinement is essential.
I did love this place, used to go twice a year after the football. Unfortunately food not great. Before plenty of gluten free option now follow the allergen sheet.
The whole team was welcoming and attentive, Oana who assisted us during our lunch was very kind and friendly. The manager as well, touched based when we were leaving asking if I was feeling good since I mentioned a gluten allergy. I sincerely much appreciated it.
The food was tasty, good presentation and balanced portion. Wine list very nice with different choices to match with the dishes. Maybe I would review the cocktails list and improve the making process but overall lovely experience. We will come back for sure and we recommend it to everyone.
Delicious food and wonderful service from Katya. Accommodated dietary requirements well, the only improvement would be better gluten free bread. Thank you!
