The servers were friendly and welcoming. A convenient place to eat and Gluten free scones were decent with clotted cream and jam but would not recommend the sandwiches or the GF sandwich melts. Nothing special for a £8 sandwich.
Clearly states gluten free, even written on window. Yet refused to serve us with gluten free food. Won't recommend.
Thank you for your response, I did listen, of you fully advertise as gluten free, which you do, you should offer the food advertised, not just say no because you are busy. We would have waited.
My partner & I visited Friday evening for dinner. She is celiac & gluten intolerant so finding places to eat can be challenging! Zizzi's has been nothing short of a god-send, the menu is 10/10, the allergy awareness and training in the staff was superb & everyone was super helpful! We've never been to a restaurant with such an allergen friendly menu & when my partner learned she could have the Raspberry Collins cheesecake, she was ecstatic! The morello Sour Cherry cocktail was top tier too. 10/10 experience, we will 100% be back.
Very well looked after from start to finish by “Stelios”.
Well informed and looked after my partner as she is gluten free.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Food very good.
Overall an excellent night / meal out 👏
Great find in Stratford. Separate gluten free menu with plenty of choice. Beautifully cooked food, friendly staff and reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients. Highly recommend.
Outstandingly good vegan food. It’s rare to find a vegan place that gets the balance right between nourishing dishes and burgers, fries etc but they got it totally bang on. Lots of clearly marked gluten free options- all of the toasties can be made gluten free! We got a good variety of food and drinks and everything was a hit, but shout-out in particular to:
- the iced blue matcha latte
- shawarma crunch (the firm favourite of our group)
- the rainbow bread for LGBTQ+ Pride Month! (Which had a real positive impact on our group, especially having experienced homophobia during our 2 days in Stratford-upon-Avon- this nod to pride felt super meaningful and celebratory for us ❤️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Lovely food and although they were 2 serving staff down, the service was amazing, the young waitress was supereb! She never stopped, all drinks, food , coffee and the bill served with a smile and efficiantly. Well done. PS gluten free menu is great!
Came for a coffee and a breakfast this morning. Drinks were lovely, the gluten-free carrot cake my partner had was incredible and the crumble I had was delicious!
Lovely place, wasn't as expected! Lovely inside, outside didn't do it justice, food was amazing, 6 of us and were all happy with our meals. One gluten free, best menu options I've ever had, so happy. Great staff, service top notch, amaz8ng atmosphere, pretty decor, nice ambience. No complaints at all, would highly recommend 👌🏼 beef cheeks, pork belly, so good.
A small team and a small cafe/restaurant that are too easy to overlook when you visit Stratford. We are glad we kind of stumbled across them because I saw the 'gluten free' words on their board outside. We liked the place so much that we lunched there three times during our week in Stratford. Great Italian food and a very pleasant venue for a snack, a meal or just drinks. Highly recommended.
Gluten-free options were very lacking at lunchtime and the only thing my wife could have was tomato soup. After we ordered our food, we were told they have run out of soup. Therefore we cancelled our order, paid for the drinks and walked out.
Traveling from Wisconsin USA. Had the Lasagna, Cottage Pie and Roast Turkey. Delicious comfort food. Glad we stopped in and ate at an iconic thatched roof 500 yr old Tavern. The deserts, gluten free brownie and homemade apple crisp were good too.
They had the Euro Cup on and also had Tuesday Quiz night.
Excellent little stop on the old railway path from Stratford ovelooking the racecourse. We had a very good cup of coffee and tea. The cakes and bakes looked scrumptious but we'd just had breakfast in our B&B so we passed on those. Plenty of vegan and gluten free options too.
Using an old railway carriage is a fantastic idea. Just sitting by the window inside took me back 50 years!
Well worth a visit if you want a lovely walk with a brew, etc.
Booked Breakfast here as part of our stay at Swan’s Nest Hotel. Not great for Coeliacs. No sausages if you want an English Breakfast (most decent sausages are gluten free so unsure why that’s so difficult). My Eggs Hollandaise arrived cold so I waited for another to be served whilst my husband finished his Veggie Breakfast (no veggie sausages either). Second time around was better but not much help / reassurance from waitress when I tried to explain my medical dietary needs. Save your money and have breakfast in town.
I love this place for breakfast. It's probably the best value for money in the entire city of Stratford and to top it off they accommodate gluten free needs. In fact, they have a full size gluten free breakfast available that's wonderful (see picture) and can also do GF sandwiches. Massive value for what you are getting and the meals include a drink. Additionally, the owners are very friendly and helpful.
The only downside to this spot is that it's small and quite smoky inside from the grill (for some reason they don't have good ventilation). That leaves your clothes smelling like the grill for the rest of the day if you linger too long, so you're best off ordering and coming back for take away.
The only reason I'm giving this an overall 2 star review rather than 5 is because dogs are allowed inside the restaurant and I, as many thousands of others, have a dog allergy. Even with my inhalers, I had to immediately leave my food & wait outside while my husband hurried to finish & pay. Also, it seems quite unhygienic to allow large furry dogs in the same place as an open kitchen area.
I love dogs but can't breathe in an enclosed space with them. We were sure we'd be safe in a restaurant as opposed to a pub or cafe and the fact that they do have outdoor seating, )so someone can eat alongside their dog without worry of causing an allergic reaction to another human) was encouraging. With all the worry about dietary allergies; dairy, gluten, nut. ... I can't believe there is no concern for the thousands of us who have pet allergies. I realize this is a dogs world but when the human has to wait outside so the canine can sit inside, do we not have the right to eat out?
I saw there was going to be a weekend event with a barbecue over the Bank Holiday weekend. I called to reserve a table for Sunday and asked if other food was available and whether there were gluten free options. I was told yes to both questions.
We arrived and ordered a drink. I asked what was on offer for the barbecue and what other options there were. I was then told it was sausages or burgers for the barbecue, but no other food was available, contrary to what I had been told over the phone. When I asked if there was gluten free bread for the sausages and burgers, I was told no! I went outside to look at the barbecue and found there were no accompaniments to the burgers. No salad, chips, coleslaw etc. We finished our drink and left.
I'm very disappointed with this. I had visitors for the weekend, and we then had to walk around Stratford to find another option. I feel if a venue is going to advertise an event like this, they need to get their facts straight, and also offer a better spread for a barbecue, including GF bread/rolls at the very least. Not impressed 😕
