We went to Platta on Friday to celebrate my husbands birthday and we had a lovely time.
Great gluten free options.
We both had the Chicken Gyros which were delicious. Portion sizes were great and the quality of the chicken was excellent.
I had a gluten free brownie which was amazing.
Staff were very attentive and friendly.
The Blue Monkey Ales are a superb addition to the drinks menu (even offering a gluten free option)!
We will definitely be returning soon.
Asked for a gluten free menu, the starter had to be taken back(by server) to check if it was in fact gluten free!!. When the main came ..burger in a bun. I checked that it was a gluten free bun, they took it back, checked and came back with it saying it was but I knew it wasn't so I mentioned it again, she took it back,2 mins later it was brought back with a different bun. I asked if they'd just changed the bun. She said No its a completely new burger, etc. So it was eaten. Afterwards it was obvious that it wasn't. I was ill all night with obvious gluten intact albeit minor. This could have been a more serious issue and not just a dodgy tummy!! Server was lovely by the way,not her fault at all.
Lovely country pub, good quality food at reasonable prices. Also good choice of gluten free food, including gluten free fish and chips, which for coeliacs like me, is a real treat. A really nice early evening meal. Thanks for having us.
Huge portions of food
Lots of gluten free options.
We went as a large group and had to pre-book our food options.
I had prawn cocktail (massive)
Beef Bourginoun (massive)
Crème Brulé (normal sized, bit hard to manage after everything else).
Both savoury courses came with gluten free buns.
Service was fast and efficient, and friendly.
The tables are spread out so it's easy to talk with your table without noise from other people.
I am coeliac and was fine eating gluten free here.
