Found this gem while traveling from Gatlinburg, TN to Chicago, IL. I LOVE BBQ and I am also gluten intolerant, so this was an oasis in a sea of McD’s and Taco Hell’s 😜 Try the Spicy Sweet BBQ, so good! All sauces and seasonings are made in-house and gluten free 🙌🏻 Gluten free buns weren’t dry like I usually encounter. Tator tots were crispy bites of perfection! I can’t say one bad thing about the place. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive! Offered multiple refills and to-go cups… that’s unheard of in Chicago! Definitely coming back next time we’re in the area! Thanks for a great meal!!
Note: I got the BBQ pulled pork and topped it with coleslaw. My husband got the BBQ ranch burger and he said it was amazing (and he is quite picky). We both cleaned our plates!
Some of the best pizza that I've ever had, and the only one I've ever had at a restaurant where the crust is made from sourdough. This is perfect for me since I am non-celiac but must still avoid gluten, as the sourdough fermentation process breaks down the gluten proteins. This means that at pretty much only this place I can enjoy a normal pizza. The atmosphere is also homey and informal, but the service is still good. My ONE complaint is that they don't have a location near where I live in Berea (or Richmond or Lexington). ;-)
Peaceful and laid back atmosphere to get some work done and love the drink options. I've had brunch their once, and since breakfast is usually the easiest to find gluten-free options, I was able to do that but it was very limited. Sometimes they have gluten free desserts in the baked goods/desserts display, but not always...they have about 2 out of 6 times in my experience. Anyway, love the coziness, vibe, lots of good seating, and drinks are good.
My children and I were passing through and were ready to stop for dinner. One of my children has Celiac. I called and asked if they had gluten-free food. The woman on the phone was helpful and said she thought she had enough offerings, so we stopped in. We ended up getting a few types of wings, a salad, and a burger for a non- GF child. The bun for the burger is made from scratch. Many of the rubs and sauces are house made too. The counter staff was so helpful, hand sliced cheese to accommodate the gluten allergy because of the starch on the pre-shred for the standard salad. Highly recommend the blaze spice rub and the house made balsamic. Everything was hot, well seasoned, and the simply presented. The counter staff looked at labels and were so kind and accommodating. Support this local gem of a restaurant. The tree with the cast iron pans as fruit is a charming bit of decoration, Americana at its finest. Don't miss this lovely place!
