We’re visiting from Chicago and had the BEST time at Shaggy’s in Gulfport! The vibe is so chill and fun—exactly what you want when you're by the water. Our server Greg was awesome—super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The seafood was delicious (seriously, try the shrimp!) and we were impressed by how many gluten-free options they had, which can be hard to find. Highly recommend this spot whether you're local or just passing through. We'll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

I would avoid this place if you have celiacs or a food allergy. There were a lot of reviews stating they have safe gluten free options. But I soon discovered that the kitchen has a lot of cross contact. I ordered a seafood dish with rice and explained that I have celiacs. The waitress said she would inform the kitchen and ensure my meal was gluten free. I was half way through my dish when I discovered that there was a piece of angle hair pasta inside my rice, like right in the center of it. The waitress then explained that the pasta and rice are prepared next to each other. They do not take cross contact serious in the kitchen and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with a food allergy. I am now extremely ill from this mistake, I hope the restaurant learns so they can practice proper kitchen safety and not offer options that are high in cross contact with allergens.

My wife and I are gluten free and they had plenty to choose from. Although there was an item I could not try because it wasn’t possible to make it GF, I still enjoyed a pancake and waffle. Wait staff was very friendly and created a nice atmosphere to enjoy brunch.

The food is incredibly fresh and unique with colorful flavors. My kids are picky eaters, but they cleared thier plates! We ate until we were full, but the food is so wholesome, it was light on our stomachs. We felt the nutrition as we were eating the gluten free, vegan variety of foods. The owner is the sweetest woman! We could tell that she made her food with love. This was the best experience we have had in all of Mississippi! 10 stars if we could!

This was our first visit to Patio 44 and we were blown away from the moment we reached the restaurant property! Plenty of parking, inviting gardens and then you step inside! Patio 44 has AMAZING food, excellent service and the atmosphere is a comfortable modern southern chic! Whether you are visiting south Mississippi or have lived in Gulfport for years, Patio 44 should be a yes on your list of places to eat! We had a party of maybe 30-50 (I’m not sure because we just kept coming in, 😂) and the ENTIRE staff including the hostess, was organized, professional personable, hospitable and timely. I have allergies to gluten & dairy, but the diligence of our waitress and the cooperation between her and the chef were second to none! They took care of me as if I was a family friend. We stayed late into the night talking and laughing with our friends and the staff gave us their best! We weren’t rushed out or made to feel as if we should leave. The best thing was the food quality was still perfection! You could feel the chefs love for his craft! If you haven’t been to Patio 44, you NEED to GO! If you haven’t been in a long time, become reacquainted! They are one of Gulfport, MS gems! You won’t be disappointed!
