Great Jem in the heart of new Plymouth! Amazing customer service along with beautiful coffees and great food. Huge selection which caters to all food restrictions/preferences the waiters and chefs have great knowledge on all their meals and are always happy to help me with my food preference being keto along with a gluten intolerance and go out of their way everytime to serve a great meal that fits into this category along with being super tasty everytime.
Thankyou !!
Great view and service, good sandwiches at lunchtime. The glutenfree hamburger bun was one of the best we've encountered. Celiac friendly, dedicated fryer.

In short, I’ve been here twice and I’d choose to dine elsewhere in chch in places I know do a much better experience for this price.
I don’t have pictures from our visit but they wouldn’t justify anything anyway. The truffle fries had no truffle, just pecorino cheese on top to make them look like truffle fries, a common hack/ trick. The gluten free pizza base could do with some work/improvements, we’ve definitely had better.
The kids menu items are $20 which is so expensive for what you get. We ordered the kids macaroni, and for that portion (the size of a bread and butter plate in a small cast iron sizzler) it would cost $3 to make and they’re charging $20, already steep for a kids meal so I expected it to be amaaaazing. It also came out on a sizzling plate, from a kids menu!? Why would you serve a piping hot cast iron plate to children? It makes absolutely no sense. The staff could do with some major training on the drinks list, it’s a small wine list and wouldn’t take very long to teach the staff what is what, they knew nothing about wine whatsoever. The flavour of our pizza was ok, the beef cheek was lovely, they also have a sparking red wine which was new for us and delicious (even if the waitress didn’t know if it was actually sparkling red wine). All in all I’d choose other restaurants over this next time for sure. There just aren’t enough redeeming factors.
Awesome service, good food and very accommodating for food allergies. Nice selection of Gluten free options. Our server, Tye and Chef Robin went above and beyond on great customer service. A nice welcome to New Zealand for us!
Went here for mums birthday lunch, everyone's food came out luke warm. My pizza was lacking flavour, it was the tofu one. It was very bland. The calamari my sister got the gluten free version and it was small for the price and lacking flavour. Mums seafood chowder was yummy but not hot and someone else got a cherizo breakfast special that was great value and yummy. They have a huge menu with heaps of gluten free options which is great. The waitress was lovely and very tentative to our table. Would probably go back but would ask for the meal to be hot and wouldn't get a gf pizza!
the gamberia pasta was absolutely beautiful, aswell as the cubano cocktail. being gluten & dairy free, it’s hard for me to come across restaurants that have my dietary options but the staff was excellent. will definitely visit again for dinner when I’m back at the mount.
Brilliant meal and friendly staff. Well situated, and great variety menu. Chef well in the know when it comes to gluten free prep. Celiacs and vegetarians spoilt for choice. Highly recommended.
What a surprising find, only due to a gluten free group. No idea this place existed. Awesome spot and the food was absolutely brilliant. You’d pay twice as much for half the food in the city and not get to look at cute little lambs in the field. The food was 10/10. If you haven’t gone. Go!
The staff/owners are so fantastic. They were friendly, engaging, helpful. They really took care to talk to all the guests in the night we were there. I got a flight of gluten free beer! It was so yum! No tummy rumbles the next day! Just a good place to go.
Every time we come up around the coast, we make a special detour to visit Passo. The pizzas are fabulously authentic, wood-fired, and use a long ferment process for the dough (perfect if you are gluten intolerant as this process removes most of it). The drinks are delicious and the gelato is the perfect way to finish off the meal. The service is so friendly. We sat outside in the little patio area, which was perfect for a sunny day. Definitely recommend and can't wait to visit again.
