Visited Cafe Zen Den today for the first time with my elderly mother and sister.
We were pleased at the prompt and effective service, which included sorting challenging dietary needs and slight alterations to the menu.
We ordered two of the calamari dishes as well as a Tricky Tofu bowel. My calamari dish was delicious, especially being gluten-free and my anaphylaxis challenge being well catered for.
Also, pleasing was the level of care for my elderly mother with adjusting table arrangements to accommodate her needs.
Finally, as business owners ourselves, we appreciate the rising costs in order to produce high quality services. The menu prices were fair and certainly appreciated.
We'll be back!
Took the family to Missing Gorilla for dinner. Service was great. Staff were very friendly. Had nice chats with the attentive staff. We had an early dinner so there weren’t many people in the restaurant, however it was starting to fill up. Always recommended you book before you go. Gluten free pizza was one of the best we’ve had. Chicken Parma always a hit. Grilled Saganaki was delicious. A bit of live ambient music topped off our experience nicely.
A 5 star review for Louis and the team at Agnes and Alban. Louis makes the best coffee in the area and I love that they offer so many gluten and dairy free options. The gluten free cakes etc. are LOVELY and the coffee is great. Love the toasted gluten free focaccias also.
I visited the Cafe about a month ago for breakfast. I was hesitant to share a less than favorable review, but ultimately decided to do so. While the meal itself was nice, I was surprised to be charged an additional $6 for substituting two slices of gluten-free bread for the sourdough bread that was included with the meal. I believe this surcharge is excessive, as I can purchase an entire loaf of gluten-free bread for a similar price. Unfortunately, this experience has made me unlikely to return to the Cafe in the future.
