We visited Michael’s Seafood Restaurant during a recent trip to Carolina Beach. I have Celiac Disease, so it’s really important to have somewhere safe to eat while on vacation. Michael’s blew us away!!! Not only were the meals safely prepared & clearly marked on the menus, the servers were very knowledgeable & the food was outstanding! Our server let us know that they prepared everything separately and that there were no fryers, so I even got to have some tater tots with my blackened mahi sandwich. It was so good, we went back multiple times on our trip!
We ordered pick up and had high hopes. With the overall reviews being good we thought the pizza would be good. We waited 65 minutes for our order to be ready and got our pizza back home. The cheese pizza with pepperonis and bacon looked fine just odd that there was pizza sauce on top of the toppings. Then we got to the gluten free and I had hoped with such good reviews it would be good but it was burnt and rock hard. And again there was pizza sauce on top of the all the toppings not under which were not sure about. So if you have gluten restrictions I’d suggest opting for a grocery store freezer pizza
Counter-service bagels, which are ok. Be aware that new ownership has paradoxically decided to eliminate both vegan and gluten free options from the menu. We were disappointed since we chose this place based on a Google search that claimed they have 3 vegan schmears and “a variety of gluten free options”.
The staff is very friendly and prompt. The setting is cafeteria-like.
SeaWitch Cafe is a cute little spot to grab a meal close to the beach. They have live music at night which is so much fun! Unfortunately, as someone with Celiac, I did not have a great experience eating here. Our server was extremely helpful and kind, and also had celiac. He helped me make educated decisions on what to order. When the runner delivered the food, I asked to confirm if the sandwich bun I ordered was gluten free. As soon as I bit into it, I could tell it wasn’t. When we flagged the server down, he was horrified to see that it was a regular bun. It took the kitchen 2 more times to get the order right, which resulted in such a long wait time that I had to order my food to go. I did get sick from this experience. Otherwise, I’d totally recommend for folks without celiac. Good vibes and when they got the food right eventually, it was delicious. Just maybe not safe for celiacs.
We grabbed takeout from here during a beach trip. They had gluten free and vegetarian options so it worked for us. The salsa bar was really fresh and had a nice selection of options. Food was good- nothing spectacular but it was filling.
In the context of a hot dog place near the boardwalk at the beach, this place is good. Especially considering we require gluten free items Nauti Dog had us covered. The hot dog buns, the fries and even the cherry tart hard cider were all good and gluten free. The location, seating (metal seats, no padding), and atmosphere (open dining room, concrete floor) were all reminders that you were at the beach and there to chill out. Oh yeah, the food was very good.
I wouldn't recommend this place if you have a gluten allergy. They tried to accommodate my 8yo daughter but wouldn't make her anything other than a cheeseburger with a gf bun. My fish taco tasted fishy. Our drinks came out around when our bill came, and it was a stressful environment. Our waitress was delightful but overwhelmed with tables. You can park across the street, but why would you want to. Hang Ten down the street was Waaaayyy better. I'm already getting a stomach ache as I'm writing this. And our bill for two adults and one kid was $87.00, including a 20% tip.
The pulled pork, beach burger, sweet potato fries, and piña colada were all delicious. They even have a gluten-free bun and a great selection of yummy house made bbq sauces! Madison took great care of us on the rooftop deck. Would recommend to anyone looking for a yummy after beach bite.

Friendly staff. Had exactly the products I was looking for, and even some new flavors I had not seen before. Fine selection of gluten-free beers, and not unreasonably priced either. 5/5 will be back.
Wow! We read a good review on Google and thought to give it a try. Exceeded all expectations with the juiciest, best flavor, burger I have had in more than fifty years of traveling and eating great food. Top shelf bacon, great toppings, super fat and tasty crinkle fries to compliment the burgers. Gluten free option (lettuce bed) was equally awesome as my burger with bun.
