The gluten-free items are clearly marked on the menu. As we were having lunch with a friend who is celiac, this made a huge difference. We all enjoyed the patio and our meal.
Mathilda’s is an absolute gem for anyone looking for delicious, plant-based meals that nourish both the body and soul. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the passion and dedication that Mathilda has poured into creating a space where food is not just a meal, but a healing experience.

Every dish is thoughtfully crafted, bursting with flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients that make healthy eating both enjoyable and satisfying.
Beyond the food, Mathilda’s story is truly inspiring. Her journey of overcoming health challenges and dedicating herself to helping others heal through food is reflected in every bite. You can tell that this isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a mission to show that plant-based eating can be both nourishing and indulgent.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is fantastic. Whether you’re a long-time vegan or just curious to try something new, Mathilda’s is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
Their gluten free options are incredibly good - non-GF is too. Just delicious food, absolutely worth the price, and the staff are always so lovely and accommodating.
Erik was an awesome server everything was efficient always came around at the right time made sure my pop was full also made sure my girlfriend was treating with gluten free items
Party of 6 for dinner. We all had various types of curry including the fried basa, Goan shrimp, Shrimp tika masala, Lamb, Onion bhujjia (onion rings), pulao rice and naan. Food was delicious. Love that you can set the spiciness of most food. All the curries were gluten free as well. Good sized portions. Masala chai had a nice bite. Mango lassi was very thick! The service was quick and couteous. Will definitely go back!
My wife and I eat at the Keg quite often as she can eat gluten-free with very little concern. In most cases at the Keg any Keg, the manager will come to let us know that the kitchen is aware and they will take care of her with caution. The server didn't ask if we were celebrating anything. 38th wedding anniversary. This Keg is not up to standards of the Keg. In Durham, Ajax Keg is the spot. Oh, and beets as a vegetable what a joke.
Been coming here for years. A must stop and staple in the city of Oshawa.
Recently discovered their gluten free menu.
The free birthday pie that couldn’t be finished
The food came out exactly as I wanted, and they were very good respecting the fact I have celiac disease. Crystal also gave amazing service and was so kind!
My team scheduled lunch here because their site and menu suggested that they could accommodate for dietary restrictions. I let the server know I had celiac disease and couldn’t have wheat and ordered the only non-salad gluten-free entree they had, a rice pasta alfredo. My entree came with wheat bread on it. When I brought it to the server’s attention, she said she’d replace it… but brought the same dish with the bread removed. Eventually, it was properly replaced - I think! - but this resulted in eating ~20 minutes after my colleagues who all said they thought the meal should be comp’ed. It wasn’t; in fact, I was charged extra! The standard fettuccine dish is 17.49, same as the rice pasta one, and added chicken makes it 23.99. I was charged a full $7 for added chicken. My bill also denoted a standard fettuccine meal rather than a gluten-free one, which is now having me concerned that my inattentive server may have triggered my celiac symptoms (time will tell!). The food was only okay; the first plate of pasta had Parmesan while the second didn’t, and I was offered zero drink refills.
Wonderful restaurant! Amazing service, our server Chelsea took great care of us. The food is wonderful , they now have gluten free options on their menu.
I highly recommend East sides, it is our go to restaurant and we have never left disappointed
We were a group of 10 from out of town - service was outstanding, food was delicious and huge portions - Definitely recommend! Price was great especially with portion size 😊 Don’t hesitate to book - go and enjoy from a huge menu selection. with gluten free selections.
What a fun restaurant. Our server Abby was delightful. Great suggestions and very attentive. The gluten free menu is extensive and we found exactly what we wanted. Pad Thai. Super portions.
Thank you to the folks at Mexitaco Oshawa!! You were all so friendly and also accommodating to my mom’s gluten allergy. My mom was able to have the Birria Tacos and Elote with no issues even though she has Celiac disease. So awesome.
We ordered the Birria Tacos, Elote, Mexican Fries, and Tres Leches Cake. The tacos were authentic and absolutely delicious. The cake was also so amazing. I could literally eat ten of those. Unreal!
It’s so nice to have an authentic Mexican restaurant so close to home. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much. Next time we hope to be able to try the Chicharron. ❤️
Full disclosure: I work at the school and used to be a student but i have and do eat here from time to time.
My experience may tend to be different but it leads up to what your expectations are. In the end it is a kitchen cooking in bulk. I only eat in a few subsets here but have at some point tried them all. They seem to have a larger variety then in the past of options. If you have questions about the food they are willing to go in the back and check for you and even have alternative meals for the ones that include items against dietary restrictions. IE gluten , vegan, dairy free etc. You just have to ask that area what the other options are based on your needs. Sometimes these are healthier as the hold the sauces. Have i seen some mistakes sure. You also see similar mistakes in other smaller kitchens. I wouldn't pay to eat here every day as it is a little on the pricier side but if your hungry there is value there based on what they have.
