I was hesitant to try this place because I'm English and my french is terrible at best, however, the waiter spoke English with me. I didn't ask him to but there is no hiding how terrible my french is and I did appreciate it even though I was prepared to power through. I've had some bad experiences in restaurants in Quebec but this guy was kind and didn't make me feel stupid for trying.
I was also nervous because I'm a newly diagnosed celiac and hate feeling like I'm being a bother about my food, however, i get so sick if I eat wrong that I truly cant risk it. I have had many bad experiences eating out as a celiac, either with hidden gluten in my food or snotty waiters who clearly think I'm lying. This place was not like that at all. This place was higly rated as celiac friendly and boy are they ever! They have a special section in their main menu for gluten free options. The waiter was very kind and took me seriously. They changed out the cutlery and use different everything for celiacs to avoid cross contamination. I was immediately put at ease. Between myself and my two kids we all had different dishes and we all loved what we had. The gluten free garlic bread was so incredibly good i wish I had more! If I'm ever in the area again this place would be on my must visit list for any meal.
Classic Quebec snack bar, they have multiple gravies to choose from. My wife has Celiac, and this place has a dedicated fryer and most of their gravies are gluten free. Their gluten free poutine with sauce BBQ is probably my favorite poutine in Gatineau, with chez Bob and Gaga close behind (but they are not gluten free), but my wife prefers hers with sauce brun.
This is an address we headed to for the “gluten-free” option offered. Very poor reception upon our arrival. So much so that we thought about leaving... We should have. I opted for the gluten-free Véronique and my partner for the Nathalie. Then we ordered red wine. The pizzas were... Tiny!! We looked at each other thinking it was a joke. The taste wasn't up to par either. Tasteless, little filling, and a really very limited pastry (so thin for my partner's that the filling was on the plate). The icing on the cake was that the wine that was served to us was not the one that we were told to taste and that we had ordered. It was fizzy, we didn't drink it. All for the modest sum of $110. Honestly, we missed our frozen gluten-free pizza 😐. Offering gluten-free is not enough.
Love this place. It's like a warm refreshing hug in an otherwise dreary part of town. The service is friendly and they even accommodate me by making me my favorite sandwich on gluten free bread. Great spot to work or just sip a latte and enjoy the posh decorated space.
I visited this restaurant because several people recommended it to me. However, having celiac disease, the waitress told me that the two types of pancakes (buckwheat and with gluten) were cooked on the same plate and therefore the risk of cross contamination is enormous. This restaurant is therefore not recommended for people with celiac disease, contrary to what some comments might indicate.
On the other hand, the non-celiac people accompanying me loved their meal. So I highly recommend a visit!
Cute pub style place, typical pub food with normal portions not the usual huge portions we always regret..lol gluten free options except buns for burgers.. but pretty tasty burger none the less. Would be a nice place to have live tunes
Great place to go play, eat and drink!
Lots of game choices, good advice from the game masters and interesting suggestions.
The menu has something to satisfy everyone and even some gluten-free and lactose-free options.
I am intolerant to gluten (wheat) and the only place where I can eat frite without having a stomach ache afterwards is here. And what's more, the service is excellent, I recommend them to everyone...
PS for those who are bored of the cosie's BBQ, here she is Good in C..... 😉
Highlight of our golf club membership: fantastic food and service. The food is gluten free (literally the entire menu) and I just got recommended an incredible wine to go with my prime rib dinner (tonight’s special). It feels like a fine dining experience at a reasonable price. 10/10 recommend whether you golf or not.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Gluten free option available, it's great! We had no expectations, we were pleasantly surprised! We will come back!
I have eaten at Olivia bistro boutique on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Each time, my salads were excellent and exceeded my expectations. The portions are very generous and I am sometimes able to have a lunch the next day. My two favorite salads are Shabby Chic and Gypsie.
Their website is very well done and it is super easy to find out the allergens in each salad. Lots of gluten-free choices and I never had a reaction during my visits. Each salad is prepared separately. So it’s an excellent place to go to eat when you don’t want to prepare dinner and still want to eat healthy!
