Food was very good, large selection of burgers, even a gluten-free bun was possible (one of us with celiac disease was very happy) and despite the restaurant being full, the service was always quick.
Great location, walkable distances to most of the attractions Basel offers. We stayed in a junior suite which was fairly big. One downsize was that our room was facing the street and at night it was quite loud because of the traffic. We appreciated the varied breakfast, including the gluten free corner. Hospitality and friendliness of the staff was also appreciated. The hotel has also an underground paid parking. The hotel gave us Basel cards which included the free use of public transportation and doscounts at museums and other activities. Overall we had a nice stay and we would be happy to come back here in the future!
I asked over the phone about glute free and celiac disease, how they do it in the kitchen without contamination. It was confirmed to me that they will clean everything so there is no contamination, I would have to mention this when ordering. Well, we drove straight there full of anticipation. I placed the order with the express note "I cannot tolerate gluten, everything must be prepared without touching gluten, I just made a phone call and was assured the kitchen would be cleaned." Unfortunately, the operation didn't understand it correctly due to their understanding of the language. Burger was prepared very quickly, I asked again when paying (as take away) and it was confirmed to me again that everything had been cleaned. And voilà, burgers with gluten-free buns that are baked separately in the oven but the rest of the burger is contaminated. The restaurant is NOT recommended for people with celiac disease!
It was very hot and stuffy in the restaurant.
I haven't found the service good for a few months.
Burgers taste delicious if you don't have celiac disease!
Very friendly and nice service. Advise and give good information about food. Sharpness can be chosen. Very very fine food. Also gluten-free options. It's a shame that it's on a side street.

My girlfriend and I often come to your place. We have always found excellent service, really fast and friendly waiters, especially the Spanish guy. Excellent food, sublime gluten-free pizza.
This place ticks all the boxes for hosting gatherings! It’s got a really quirky aesthetic and a delightful vibe, it’s just the right size space, not too large and not too small. The back room is the perfect venue for hosting farewells, we did two here recently, just booked a few tables and easy to set up a bar tab with wristbands. Staff were wonderful, kids were welcome and so easy to entertain here. Food is reasonably priced and there’s so much variety, even gluten-free options. Bar has plenty of variety of cocktails. I love this place (so much more than markthalle and my kids can’t escape or disappear so it’s actually relaxing!). The only drawback is the back room gets a bit hot in Summer, they should open it up at the back (there’s already a door) to get a breeze and add plants and fans!
We walked by and talked with the owner about gluten free options, and then let him know we would be back. When we arrived a few hours later, he already had a table set for us. The waitstaff was kind, knowledgeable, and competent, and the food was amazing. The gluten free pizza was one of the best I have ever had and the rest of the family enjoyed theirs as well. The owner checked in as well. All in all, such a wonderful experience and a gem of a find on our part!
AMAZING burgers! The gluten-free bun is super tasty as well, which (as anyone who needs to eat them would know) a rare feat. 100% recommend! If you like truffle, try the truffle mayo with your fries :)
We had a 10 pax graduation buffet-style dinner at Bali Umami. Greg handled the glutenfree request of a coeliac request with dedication and successfully.
The food is real soul food ... service is naturally, easy and with a smile.
The taste ... yum!
Super service - Greg, thank you once again! Terima kasih!
Very satisfied. I didn't have much time as I only had a short transfer time at the train station. I walked to the Swiss McDonald's with my luggage because there are no gluten-free burgers in the German McDonald's. It's been years since I've been able to eat a burger. That's why I took my chance in Basel :) When I got there, everything happened very quickly. I was able to pay in euros (only cash notes are accepted) and got the change back in Swiss currency. The gluten-free burger felt like it was ready after just 20 to 30 seconds and I had enough time to take my next train without rushing. Very cool 👍
Excellent! Flawless for the starters and main courses, just one small negative point, one or two gluten-free desserts are missing, for a celiac it's a shame to deprive yourself of the last treat in such a tasty establishment.
They make gluten-free pasta (RUMO brand) with a supplement of €2. The staff know how to make the pasta and sauce to make it 100% gluten free. There are other gluten-free dishes on the menu. On this side everything is correct. As for the quality of the food, the pasta is on point, but nothing spectacular for the price you pay (the same comment applies to the pasta with gluten). Also, I ordered “frutti di mare” sauce and the mussels and clams had grit. The right service.
The food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I eat gluten-free and the waitress even ordered me fajitas that were gluten-free even though it wasn't on the menu. The prices are good for Basel and you have enough to eat. Positive atmosphere with good vibes. Thanks
