The food here was excellent! All members of our party enjoyed ourselves. The food was fresh, hot, and packed full of flavor! I really enjoyed their commitment to serving those with gluten allergies.
The ciders were delicious and the fact that they showed the sugar content in each made it easy to pick what you desired most.
The atmosphere was beautiful. Since it was a nice day in June, the bat door was open and there was a nice breeze. The only complaint were the drivers revving their engines loudly while driving by
Service was also exceptional. Our server was attentive and regularly checked to ensure we had what we wanted or needed.
I absolutely recommend Brick River Cider!

Really neat place. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable! My 8 year old who has gluten and dairy allergies was able to enjoy a “normal” sandwich and Root beer float! He was on cloud 9!!
Phenomenal! Great food, great drinks, lovely indoor and outdoor seating - all in a cute little country store. Can’t wait to come back!
They were also very knowledgeable about my gluten-free restrictions, which I very much appreciated!
I’ve lived in the Grove for about two years, and I’m walking distance from Songbird. This means, most days I’m up at 7 am walking my dog past this place to smell all the smells. Great smells, and all for free. I like to think my dog thinks the same, bc he will usually stop and take extra sniffs by this place. Fantastic place to smell, first and foremost.
Okay, you want to know about the food. Yeah, I’ve gotten take-out from here, PLENTY a times. And it’s always going to be the same effing thing. THE COMBO SANDWICH! Please! Cmon! Insane to the fricken membrane! Never gets old! Perfect sandwich, and please know I come from the land of breakfast sandwiches (new jersey) and this place knows how to do a breakfast fricken sandwich. Freshly toasted sourdough, thick bacon, incredible cheese, and that EGG! 😫 With salt and honey on top, please. 🙏 Any time I get this to-go, it’s always warm, egg perfectly cooked, and so easy to order through their user-friendly website. Shoutout whoever does their web-design BTW - love it.
Okay, now you want to know the dine-in vibes. Such a cozy, lovely, well designed interior. It feels like you’re eating at your down-to-earth rich friend’s house who definitely is a NPR contributing member. So like, good vibes. Love the hand-painted designs all over, and the color scheme is not overwhelming, it aids in your eating experience. One bathroom - small, and does the job well. Great bathroom. Every detail of this place is so well thought out, to the cookbooks on the bar, to the little figurines on the sill of the mirror. Also, always love a purse hook! Which there are a plenty of!
The wait staff here - they are professionals. Like true, real deal professionals. My dad still references this phrase someone used - “How was your first chew?” I mean, how does one even think of such an original sentence? Thank you for inspiring thought and critical thinking.
I’ve sat at the bar and at a table. Both spots had excellent back support, and how enjoyable to place my feet wherever I so choose when we sit. Perhaps I swing them! Love the choice. And the open-kitchen concept for the drink making, love it. How fun to watch espressos and kombuchas and teas and delicious alcoholic morning beverages be made!!
Okay, now you want to know about the dine-in food experience. As much as I love that OG sandwich, I was recently diagnosed with a random autoimmune disease that restricts some foods I can eat, including gluten, so I was so happy to see they have a gluten-free option for their combo sandwich! I’m really not supposed to eat a lot of food, but the thing is the quality of ingredients is so incredible, I never have a poor reaction to their meat, dairy, or butter. I love they have partnerships with lots of local businesses, and you can really taste the quality.
Okay, so I know I raved about the combo sandwich, but their menu is so full of variety and they have the best seasonal specials. My dad loves the Kale Frittata, and I’ve also enjoyed their Sprouted Grain English Muffin, and their grits are so yum! Please try everything once, you won’t regret it. Also always get the combo. lol.
Now - the drinks. You might be saying, why is this tiny little Songbird latte $10? Yeah, I wonder that too. I think it’s because of inflation, and also because the quality of house-made syrup, cruelty-free coffee, and delicious milk varieties are just worth it. But hey, don’t want to spend that much? Get one of their insanely delicious teas, matchas, or juices. But don’t sleep on that kombucha. I won’t lie, it’s a bit of a small amount for the price point, but again, you get what you pay for here. My boyfriend tried their Coffee with a Kick as well, and he got a SUBSTANTIAL amount of liquor in that jawn 🤣. Very pleased.
I know it’s a long review, but I must address one final thing. All of you weirdos are always complaining about the wait, and being “pushed out.” Go work in a restaurant once in your life. Please. Learn patience. It’s worth the wait.
My experience at Hatched was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. Our waitress, Mia, took our order and immediately understood what it meant when I mentioned I have celiac disease. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and made me feel very reassured.
When our food arrived, a gentleman (whose name I didn’t catch) brought it out and mentioned that he is also a gluten-free diner. He explained that they had taken special care with my meal to make it safe, and even adjusted the “Blue Pancakes” by leaving out the lemon to avoid any risk of cross-contamination — while still trying to stay true to the original flavor.
What truly stood out was that after the meal, Mia came back to the table specifically to ask how I was feeling. It was such a thoughtful touch and showed how much they genuinely cared about my dining experience.
Because of their attention to detail, understanding, and kindness, I felt completely comfortable eating — without any fear or hesitation. I can’t recommend Hatched enough, not just for the incredible food, but for their outstanding service and heartfelt care for their guests.
Jennifer was my server. She was super sweet. She was also crushing it at serving the whole place. She reassured me that I everything I ordered was and could be made GF and even put in gluten allergy for me (I have celiac) so I felt very comfortable knowing that she knew what she was talking about. And the tacos were delicious. I will be back
One of the best brunches of all time. They were so kind to me and made me a gluten free pancake and the rest of the food was incredible. Everyone in our group had a great experience.
We love going here! The building is so beautiful with the wood and stain glass everywhere. Gorgeous spot for pictures. The have so much seating that it’s always easy to get a table. The food is consistently good. The staff is always on point. We’ve never had a bad server or bar tender. Even their gluten free options are yummy!
I would recommend this place to anybody who needs to be gluten free as they have a completely dedicated gluten-free kitchen. If you want authentic, this place has it and it is really good with lots of different choices. The bathrooms are large and accessible, the bar has a beautiful atmosphere and plenty of seating. They have plenty of seating, staff are very attentive. I never ran out of water, or ice for my other drinks, they are also very knowledgeable about their menu and if you tell them what your specific diet is, what might be the most go-to option or which ones to avoid. I have not sat down in a restaurant and had that great of service in a long time and so it was refreshing. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well if it's a nice day, If you go to St. Louis, this is a must-go-to spot.
Our family of five all agree that we have never been disappointed and we all love Sen. The food, drinks and service are always excellent but the absolute best part is that I can eat there gluten free and be confident that I won't get sick.
It's a great place to take friends and family and enjoy a few drinks, good food, and plenty of board games.
They have lots of vegan and gluten free dishes too.
It can get noisy so if you are easily affected by that in the long term, wearing something like loops will help.
Parking is kinda hit or miss, they are still attempting to get a permit for the lot across the street. For now parking is on surface streets.
Over 3 days in St Louis, I ate at:
* Salt + Smoke (Delmar Blvd)
* Pappy’s Smokehouse
* Sugarfire Smokehouse
Pappy’s had the best sausage, and the pickles were really good. It felt a little cheap that the pickles cost money. The brisket was very finely shaved - almost a roast beef. The ribs were really good, my favorite of the 2 places I had them. I liked their sauce, but the take out container was cheap and hard to re-seal.
Good gluten free gf options.
We tried this place due to its reputation for gluten free options. Hubby got the King roast beef sandwich and he got enough roast beef for 3 sandwiches. He LOVED their gluten free bun. They also have a dedicated fryer for French fries. I had the gluten free chicken strips that tasted fine but the portion was skimpy. I think others with larger appetites might leave hungry. The salad on the other hand was fresh and huge. I could only eat half. This was the first time at a Lion's Choice and 2 counter people were a bit rude when I didn't know I was supposed to take my salad out of the cooler and for another incident. Also, none of the sauces or dressings are listed in the nutrition guide. For a business that does such a great job addressing gluten issues, I was surprised they are ignoring possible allergy issues in this part of their menu. We will probably eat her again but we won't my rushing back.
So, the woman at the front (today only? Occasionally? Always?) was certainly a deterrent for those unsure of our visit to begin with. If not for some in our larger-than-expected party, I would have walked out (which I did but was coaxed back in) upon her confrontational approach to seating. Perhaps her harsher-than-necessary approach is needed in the environment; I'll likely never know as there were less-than- interesting food options for the gluten-free guest group of which I am a part, and everything seemed MUCH pricier than necessary for lunch prices/sizes. The server was good despite not noticing we needed drinks refilled, BUT he was friendly, outgoing, and tried really hard, having been seated abundantly and quickly (slammed). He handled the separate checks well, and he handled our personalities well. Food seemed to take an egregiously long time, and then sadly, no time was taken to circle around and ask whether we needed anything OR if everything was as desired/expected. Again, perhaps due to busy-ness or business demands, but, one should likely be forewarned that you will likely have to wave someone down if you have needs once the appetizer and then the food arrives. Sadly, not a fantastic experience, but even if it had been, due to the prices and the lack of g/f options that most everywhere offers (booooring), I'd likely not return and would leave the place to those who throng there as it always seems hugely busy every time I drive past. Luckily, my food tasted good, and I had no problems other than a bit of boredom in the waiting for it. Not too bad in this day/age some would say, but when I go out, since I rarely do it due to allergies, I guess I expect more to rave about.
Had a great lunch at Felix’s Pizza Pub. This restaurant is a good stop for some quality pizza, wings (wings not pictured), and loaded cheese fries!
It’s not often I would tell someone a restaurant has good Gluten Free pizza. With that said, I do recommend the Gluten Free pizza for those who have allergies.
The parking lot and traffic flow at this location is hectic. So definitely be prepared to be patient and on the lookout for distracted drivers. This said, the food is okay, but the service was amazing!! They do offer a gluten-free bun which is nice, but it definitely isn't the best I've had - it is prepackaged so not a slight to this location - it's the same at all Culver's (being just okay). The fries were surprisingly good, which surprised me as I'm not a crinkle-cut fan. Overall it's better than expected, especially after dealing with the chaos in the parking lot.
I had heard nothing but great things. I decided to come as they had gluten free options and it’s rare to find a place with a GF hot dog bun.
The gentleman who took our order was very nice and the food came out efficiently. The taste of the food (2 dogs and a brat, two fries) were great, my nieces enjoyed theirs a lot. Mine tasted great, although the GF option isn’t really a hot dog bun…it was more like a sub sandwich bun. Within an hour of leaving this place I was SO SICK. Nausea and severe stomach pains - which is what happens if I am accidentally exposed to a fair amount of gluten. While I understand this is not a dedicated gluten free restaurant, I have eaten at many other places that are not either. I suspect Steve’s Hot Dog cross contamination practices are very lax & this is disappointing. If you’re going to offer GF items, you need to be knowledgeable and attempt to at least not make people sick!
Before we left, we waited to use the rest room (one was out of order). An employee came out and he had the worst smelling B.O. I have ever experienced. We were gagging in the bathroom. It sort of grosses you out when you know someone is working in the kitchen and they have a body odor issue like that.
The waitress was knowledgeable about gluten free options and the menu is properly labeled. They also can make some tacos gluten free if you ask. My daughter got the big ass nacho which was really fun bc it literally is one big nacho pizza. I love the governors tacos and the portobello taco. Everything I've ever eaten here, even with gluten, is delightful.
Cannot say enough amazing things about Little Fox. My wife and I were in St Louis for a few nights in the middle of a cross country road trip. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Soph, was the best! She made us the best amaretto sours we have probably ever had. I was so ecstatic to learn they had a whole gluten free menu for me and all the food we had was phenomenal. We had the Crispy Artichokes, the Crispy Green Tomatoes, Stracciatella, Carne Cruda, and my wife had the Cavatelli. We had zero complaints about any aspect of our time here. Everyone was so nice, the vibes were immaculate and the food/drinks were unique and delicious. Thanks for everything, Little Fox, especially Soph! Ya’ll made our time in St. Louis that much better!
This particular location of The Pasta House was particularly fabulous. It is smaller and has a great atmosphere. The noise level is not overwhelming. Additionally, our server got everything on point without writing a thing down. We did not have a simple order, either. My gluten-free Pasta Con Broccoli was the best I have had in years! Not watery! I highly recommend this location.
Brisket is fire. Service is great, but I was annoyed by the staff member who kept referring to me as "friend" (I don't even know her). The atmosphere is fine, not special but clean. Baked beans and fries are also very good. I have a gluten allergy and don't get sick eating here!!
Many wonderful options for any pallet. They offer a gluten-free crust with a rice flour base that does have milk and egg products but it tasted phenomenal (as shown in picture). They mention that it is not recommended for celiac due to potential cross contamination. For those with a gluten sensitivity like my mom, it is still a wonderful alternative! Meanwhile my own regular flour calzone was also a wonderful flavor and I loved The Fold option on their menu. 5/5 all around.
I was with a private dining reservation and had an attentive server, Kevin! He asked everyone about dietary needs and I told him I'm celiac. He told me he was also gluten free, "I will be with you every step of the way!" and stated there are a variety of options and the kitchen is good about preparing and limiting cross contamination. There was a separate GF menu and he reviewed all the options in detail for the group and seamlessly noted my options as he went. When he brought out platters of shared apps, he made a point of explaining what it was and placing the GF ones in front of me for me to serve myself first. I ordered 8 oz filet and mashed potatoes and he ensured me as I ordered that these were both safe and informed me they would skip the house butter that they typically put on the steak, it's not safe. Overall incredible service and options for GF, but I did have a reaction to something the next day. If you’re celiac, proceed with caution.
My daughter and I arrived during lunch time on a Friday and as expected the store was busy. Staffing was adequate and we placed our orders quickly. We only had 1 person ahead of us in the wait line. Food arrived at our table quickly and completely correct. Love that they offer gluten free buns so my daughter can eat there.
We were there on April 2, 2021 at 9pm. I had the best experience that I have had at any fast food restaurant, possibly any restaurant. The two employees were so kind, literally the Kindest, most polite people I have met. The food was fresh, hot and the order, which was complicated due to a gluten allergy, was spot on! Thank you so much!
Josh was very welcoming and knowledgeable on all gluten free options on the menu. All of his recommendations were phenomenal. Pictured - Mai Tai and Crab dip.
This place was delicious and had gluten free options. We had a great experience and amazing service. Would totally go again if I'm ever in the area again.
not a ton of gluten free options for girlies with dietary restrictions and also is super loud and dark. the gluten free pasta was okay. we sat at a booth where the lamp was broken so it kept coming on and off which was distracting
Great place to enjoy yourself with friends. Love the idea of having multiple food options in one location, especially vegan & gluten-free options!
I really enjoy Scratch Chicken & Sureste, but there's numerous delicious options.
The City Winery is a fun place for events & a cute place for a date. I enjoyed the Duck Tacos & the specialty drink that the bartender whipped up for me.
Putt Putt Golf is a lot of fun, or you can catch a movie at the Alamo.
There are several cute boutiques to shop around at & a great outdoor seating area.
Great location with plenty of options. You can't go wrong!
Hectic vibes, vegan food. Just the way I like it. They have gluten free options, just confirm with someone from the very lovely staff that you have an allergy and they will take good care of you. Thanks so much, we loved it.
We love the food here. Its awesome quality and never disappointed. My wife has a gluten allergy and they always are considerate when making her food. The staff is super friendly and we appreciate them. The staff deserves a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating
We recently hired the team at Brasserie to cater the desserts for our wedding. Due to an accident, half of our dessert was lost. Leanne made it a priority not only to go back to the restaurant and have them make even more than we originally ordered, but she also refunded part of our order AND gave us a gift card. The desserts were some of the best I’ve ever had. Guests were raving about the food, even the gluten-free options! 5/5 starts for going above and beyond to make our evening special.
Gianino's is a hidden gem in South County! Don't miss the amazing lemony goodness of Chicken Spiedini!! Chicken Picatta is yummy too. For an appetizer, we always get Eggplant Parmesan or Toasted Ravioli Sicilian style. They have gluten free pasta options AND don't forget to take home a couple Gianino's frozen pizzas. We love this place!!
We really enjoyed our meal here! The gluten free options weren’t super numerous, but I had a couple of options to choose from. It did NOT seem like they will sub sides (or at least they didn’t offer), so I don’t think they will modify dishes to be GF. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back!
10/10 would come back! Outstanding service, food, and atmosphere! Our server, LaReshia, was phenomenal! The food was fantastIc and accommodating to my gluten intolerance. The manager even came over to welcome us, which you just don’t see often, but set our experience over the top! This was our first time at First Watch and we will be coming back. Thank you for providing us with an excellent experience!
The lack of knowledge and customer service at this location is ridiculous. I wanted gluten free pasta. They could not figure out how to order it and kept trying to talk me into ordering the pesto dish. I finally left without ordering. Ugh.
Great Service, friendly people and AHMAZING brunch , creative seasonal brunch drinks, gluten free options with a side of historical side quest.. 5 out of 5… Highly recommend stopping here!🥰👏👏👏
Looking at their reviews - I think this place is paying for reviews. There are many low ⭐️⭐️reviews and the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️reviews all read the same.
Over 3 days in St Louis, I ate at:
* Salt + Smoke (Delmar Blvd)
* Pappy’s Smokehouse
* Sugarfire Smokehouse
Downtown St. Louis is rough - the staff was friendly, but the surroundings have seen better days. And they were out of ribs and salmon. My colleague got burnt ends - they were tough. Sausage was cheese + jalapeño, it was okay, not great. Brisket was watery and portions were small.
The line was out the door at 5 pm - even with ‘no ribs’ posted clearly. They sell out no matter what - this is definitely a tourist draw more than a quality of food draw. Nice to see the old school service on a tray and to have bottled beer options, but not worth a trip. Of the 3 I tried this is the only one I would not go back to.
They have gluten free gf options and good sauces.
