I never write reviews but this is definitely the best and my favorite diner i've ever been to. We stumbled upon this place while staying in Montpelier for a skiing/VT winter trip. I am gluten free by preference and I was happily surprised to see gluten free french toast on the menu. It's also made from local bread that they sell at the co-op. Absolutely delicious with the VT maple syrup they serve. The coffee also tastes really good and so is everything else we got every day we came (We loved it so much we came back every morning) The homefries are so yummy and the maple meats are insanely good. My boyfriend and I kept waking up excited to come here to eat for breakfast because it's so good and affordable. The staff are also so friendly and cute. Do yourself a favor and eat at wayside it's worth every penny. Places like this are hard to come by where we live so we are so grateful we found it. Will absolutely come back to Montpelier to eat here!

Excellent food and great service. As someone with celiac (gluten free), our server was great about what I could have (I didn't get the full run down of gf options but the chicken soup was great) and even warned me not to use the hoisin sauce on the table.
