I recently had the pleasure of ordering from the DT San Mateo location via DoorDash, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As someone who follows a gluten-free diet, I'm always a bit cautious when it comes to ordering sandwiches, but the Spiffy Tiffy exceeded all expectations. I specifically requested my sandwich to be extra toasted to ensure the texture of the gluten-free bread was just right, and Zeferino, the staff member responsible for my order, truly delivered. Not only was the bread perfectly toasted, but the amount of ingredients packed inside was generous and satisfying. Not only is the food very good (the seasonal turkey sandwich was delicious), but the service here is amazing. The person who helped me at the register had incredible service, and the service on the phone was amazing as well. Will definitely be back. Also, really great that they differentiated between a gluten-free preference vs allergy; great gluten-free options.
Had been to this location before and I'm not sure what has changes but we will not be back. When I asked what the bread choices were the young lady flicked her hand back and rattled off the 3-4 choices so fast I had to ask again. Once we got that settled we both ordered the pastrami one on rosemary and the other gluten free. We ordered to go. When ready at the guy that made the sandwiches called my name and handed me the two wrapped sandwiches, NO BAG & NO NAPKINS I had to ask for both. I see on a table orders made on line in a nice handled bag ready to go.
To add insult to injury the gluten free bread was $2.00 more and tasted like dust, absolutely no flavor and just crumbled into pieces. The meat was ok what there was very tiny portions.
For the $13.25 spent on a sandwich I'm expecting a lot more then what was received.
