I’ve always loved Peg Legs - great deals on oysters throughout the week and delicious food. We like to sit at the bar when it’s busy and don’t want to wait for a table. They took my gluten allergy very seriously and had a separate gluten free menu and had a manager come talk to me to assure me. Highly recommend!
We dropped in at 5 pm. They said they did not have any water view tables, because they were reserved. Well we left at 6 after having great meals, 50% of the water view tables were still empty. Suggestion, at least leave a couple of tables for walkins or let the walks in know its for a limited time. I see loss of revenue when people don't show up or leave because of no water view.
The food was awesome and service was good.
We had a Shrimp and grits, Salmon dinner and a delicious gluten free brownie with vanilla ice cream and dash of rum. We will return and call ahead of time.
My dad is celiac and IT IS NOT A GLUTEN FREE SAFE PLACE! The server wasn't sure about any meal, she said" maybe it is gluten free" so... If you are celiac you know that " maybe" it's not safe , btw the fans didn't work and no a/c
Cailyn was fantastic! Had a gluten allergen at the table and was able to provide a GF menu and help answer any questions. Was very busy around 5-6pm, she handled it great
First time there and wow, what a neat little place! Just a super easy going, nice, beachy vibe/décor with both indoor and outdoor covered seating where you can chill in the breeze, which we did. We were immediately sold when the super nice bartender (Krista, who we later learned was actually the GM) said that yep, while they weren’t celiac-friendly due to same fryers, they could totally do cornmeal seafood for GF folks like my wife.
PROS:
• Service (5.0 stars) – Wendy was incredible, crazy friendly and super helpful, got answers to our questions with a smile, super friendly and took great care of us from start to finish!
• Fried Shrimp (4.5) – Loved my regular battered shrimp, and the wife loved her cornmeal shrimp – win-win for both of us!
• French Fries (4.5) – Very fresh, with just the right amount of seasoning, and just the cuts I like too – regular cut, with just a hint of crisp on the outside while being nicely soft on the inside.
• Fried Okra (4.0) – Yummy, and always nice to find a seafood spot who serves it so well : )
• GF Options (5.0) – Not many restaurants in PNSB offer cornmeal seafood so this place is a real gem of a find. Note that they’re not celiac friendly as they don’t have separate fryers, but if you’re like my wife who’s just simply GF and won’t double over from a hint of it, it’s totally fine!
CONS:
• Oh yeah, there were none : )
And like Ahnold said, I’ll be back! (Er, make that “we’ll” be back : ) )
