The best place to eat in Santa fe. Make sure you get in line by 4pm for an in person reservation. Many gluten-free options. Almost all the deserts are gluten-free.
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. It’s my favorite place to eat. I also have celiacs disease and almost everything is gluten free! 10/5 stars! Please come to the west side!!
I contacted Cocina Azul to query them about gluten free, and they do not use flour in any of their cooking. Sopapillas are separate. We needed takeout for one GF celiac, one vegetarian, and one no issues. We ordered three different enchilada plates to go meeting all our requirements. The staff was responsive and clear, and the food was good.
Enjoyed everything we ordered! Steak salad was high quality and tasty. Pork chop special was fantastic--so many wonderful flavors and the smoky pork was so tender!
Both dishes were high quality options for gluten sensitivity.
Never had a bad meal and I can always find gluten-free options without being at risk of cc. My kids love the fresh tortillas and the cheese and chips are so good. The prices are reasonable and it has numerous options.
Authentic sit down Mexican restaurant. Excellent menu traditional dishes and shares a kitchen with El Pollo bravo the chicken next-door I peaked in the kitchen. It was very neat and clean and well organized. They have booth seating and table seating chairs or just your run-of-the-mill, traditional diners chairs, but everything is so comfortable in the environment is like being in someone’s home. I have the tostadas I could only finish half of it it was so big. Husband had the chicken chimichanga. It was excellent. The food here is fabulous. Try the green chili sauce chips and salsa were served as soon as we sat down and I had probably one of the best margarita classic margaritas I’ve ever had there is free parking across the street they do serve gluten-free dishes. It is kid friendly, they do have a couple of large tables for large families. It was fabulous.
So, we got the Fish and Brisket street tacos. Cost for 2 of each was almost $20. The food was not bad, but portions are no different from Taco Bell/Del Taco. The staff however, was another story. The girl running the register did not greet us and seemed less than enthusiastic. I inquired about the gluten-free choices that I read about on the website and she could not confirm anything. During this conversation, the young man prepping the food interrupted us to scold her for moving a towel from his prep area. This exchange went on for a bit before she rang us up. I don't expect much from a fast-food joint, but if I'm paying $20 for 4 tacos, I'd like to not have this type of awkward experience. We won't be back.
My family & I like picking up take-out here. They are fast, affordable and have good food. They have tacos you can make gluten and dairy free just by ordering the specific ingredients you want.
