The famous Gundary Store is going stronger than ever. The food is so good and there is always something to please everybody. I love the gluten free or vegan options and the salads, which are always fresh and beautifully made. It’s just so laid back, sitting on the verandah, sipping on my favourite coffee. The staff really make this place the gem it is. They are often just so busy and yet, are always friendly and maybe will have a quick chat with you. No extra charge for GF either, which made it exceptionally good value for money. Great service on the phone and in person too - if you're within cooee of Moruya you should definitely make Black Olive part of your dinner plans!

Be very careful if you are a coeliac as this is the kind of place where, despite its fine-dining aspirations, you will need to micro-manage the kitchen to ensure your food is safe. I was given food that was not suitable, only to be peremptorily told it was my fault for not giving them enough information. This was not correct as the waiter who took our order had already indicated that the dish would be altered in a certain way (which was how I knew it had been prepared incorrectly when it eventually arrived). This waiter was knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. For coeliacs who want the low-down, I have left a more comprehensive review on the Find Me GF app. For completeness, I do record that another dining companion was seemingly very well looked after with an egg and dairy allergy. Its mostly that I am annoyed I was told the problem with my dish was my fault when I am so conscientious and the first waiter evidently knew what he was talking about, even if nobody else did.
