A Culinary Haven in Oshawa - A Personal Favorite! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The White Apron Restaurant holds a special place in my heart, & it has consistently been a favourite of mine every time I revisit Oshawa. Introduced by a friend in 2019, this culinary haven has never failed to impress. One of the standout features for me is their dedication to accommodating dietary preferences. The fact that they offer gluten-free toast & French toast is a game-changer, especially for someone like me who is celiacs. It's a rare find & adds an extra layer of love for this spot. The food itself is nothing short of delicious, & the portion sizes are generous. Many of the meals are so hearty that they can easily be shared, making it a perfect spot for a communal dining experience. The staff at The White Apron are the true gems. Their super-friendly, helpful, & kind demeanour adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere. It's evident that they are passionate about what they do, & their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience is truly commendable. Now, let's address the only minor hiccup—the parking situation. Being located downtown, parking can be a bit tricky, but it's by no means unmanageable. The inconvenience is a small price to pay for the culinary delights that await inside. In conclusion, The White Apron Restaurant is a true gem in Oshawa, & my personal favourite. The dedication to accommodating various dietary needs, coupled with delicious food & exceptional staff, makes it a must-visit. The parking challenge is a minor detail compared to the overall joy this restaurant brings. Highly recommended!

Party of 6 for dinner. We all had various types of curry including the fried basa, Goan shrimp, Shrimp tika masala, Lamb, Onion bhujjia (onion rings), pulao rice and naan. Food was delicious. Love that you can set the spiciness of most food. All the curries were gluten free as well. Good sized portions. Masala chai had a nice bite. Mango lassi was very thick! The service was quick and couteous. Will definitely go back!

I had the pleasure of visiting Cali Tacos tonight for the first time with my son, and I have to say, these are hands down the best tacos I’ve ever had. I tried the beef barbacoa and fish tacos, while my kids enjoyed the beef and chicken options. Every ingredient was fresh, perfectly balanced, and made with love—no gluten, just pure, flavorful goodness. Normally, I’m a bit picky with sauces and toppings, but this time I decided to trust the chef and not customize anything. I’m so glad I did because every bite was a heavenly blend of flavors. I’ve tried tacos from popular spots in downtown Toronto near College and in the Distillery District, but these were on another level—bursting with flavor and clearly crafted with care. There’s something truly special about the love and passion a small business puts into their food, and I could taste it in every bite. The service was exceptional too—kind, patient, and attentive. The owners’ gratitude and communication about their food didn’t go unnoticed. Here’s the best part: my older son and I walked there while my younger son was getting a haircut, and we grabbed tacos and their homemade chips with guac (which were so good). We brought the tacos back to the barbershop and my younger son loved his taco so much that after his haircut, we went back for more! The owners were so kind—they gave us free chips and churros as a token of appreciation. If you haven’t tried Cali Tacos yet, you’re missing out. Treat yourself to a variety of their tacos and let the flavors speak for themselves. You’ll leave with a happy heart and a full belly. This place deserves to go viral!
