Recently visited for Mother's Day, from arrival the service was awful. Took 30 minutes to take our drinks order, nobody checked if our food was okay, once we were done we sat awkwardly on the table waiting for someone to offer a dessert menu or the bill but nobody came or even gave eye contact, our young son went to the bar to ask for the bill in the end and three women behind the bar stood staring and pointing at us. After a good few minutes of staring my husband decided to go and ask if there was an issue, they had added extra drinks onto our bill that we hadn't had. That could have been communicated rather than pointing and staring. My coeliac son also had to have the day off school the next day due to being unwell which was a major concern since we ordered or food gluten free. I've contacted in writing twice since and I haven't had any response. It's a terrible shame because I can't fault the food. We usually get takeout and have never had an issue but it was our first time dining in and the service was enough to put us off ever returning.
Nice decor, roomy with friendly helpful staff. Fantastic desserts with lots of gluten free options for me 😊! First time I have been able to have a waffle for a long time. Result 😘
We visited last week. The food was fab and all of the staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. It was our first visit and I was a little nervous as our young daughter has coeliac disease. There was lots of choice (almost every pasta dish can be made GF) and the food was delicious. We look forward to returning soon 💗
I ate here recently and was really impressed. The food was delicious. I am gluten intolerant, the staff were really good at asking about allergies. And there were plenty of gluten free options.

When we booked for Sunday lunch we said that one of the diners would need gluten free. When we arrived, it was a great start to find a GF menu already on the table, great start. It continued to be a very enjoyable meal, the staff are excellent, their service, friendliness and professionalism really stood out. The food was delicious our roasts couldn't be faulted and when the bill came, we were very pleasantly surprised, we have paid more for a much less enjoyable meal.
Thanks to all involved.
I was here for a birthday meal. Managed to seat 13 of us. Very good happy friendly service very attentive. The food came out quickly and tasted very fresh and very flavorful. The menu consisted of pastas, salads, roasts, burgers...plus a delicious desert menu. They also catered for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free.
Very full and happy with our visit and would go again.
The food is so divine. If I could, I would eat here every day.
The Mesay is the most wonderful assortment of flavours, tastes and smells and if I had to choose to never eat anything other that this again I would die forever happy.
Words can not express how amazing the food here is.
The staff are so welcoming and nothing is to much trouble.
Gluten Free options available on almost every dish and this is such a rare treat. They even cater for Gluten Free desserts and not just the standard Ice Cream options.
They do the most wonderful Gluten Free Cheesecake on a pistachio base. Which captivates the culinary palette.
I really can say this is my all time favourite restaurant ever.
Prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are extremely generous.
Nothing could make this restaurant any better.
A True Greek Feel.
Really nice cafe that my son introduced me to. Love the hot spiced teas. This cafe is great for my son who struggles finding a place that does gluten free snacks and dairy free.
Very friendly service.
Have a nymber of GLUTEN FREE options, and only use the best ingredients.
The owner is very happy for feedback and wants to be even more understanding and accommodating for gluten free diets.
Chose gluten free French toast with Nutella!
Great prices too, makes you want to come back!
Called for a late lunch yesterday (Monday). My partner ordered sirloin steak which was said to be served with grilled tomato and seasonal salad. When it arrived, the steak was meagre in size and the tomato was literally a salad tomato cut in half, not even grilled! And what do we call a seasonal salad? Lettuce and tomato. Ok, I guess that does pass as salad, but for the price, we would have expected a little more to be honest.
I had the chicken salad from the non gluten containing menu. The chicken was very dry and overall, both meals were pretty disappointing. Shame really, because given the location, I would have been tempted to return, but probably will give it a miss in the future.
We came here to eat, and while Desi places rarely have gluten-free options, my husband insisted we ask—and to our surprise, they do! Not only that, but if you call ahead, they’ll prepare fresh gluten-free dough just for you. We ordered two gluten-free parathas, two chanas, two omelettes, achar, chutney, and large karak and Kashmiri chai. The portions were absolutely massive! The omelette was the size of a small pizza (around 8 inches), and the paratha was a generous 10 inches when opened. We ended up with so much left over that next time we’ll definitely just get one of each.
What really stood out, though, was how warm and welcoming the staff were. They greeted us with smiles, took the time to explain their options, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. They truly went above and beyond by bringing the food out to our car, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture.
As for the Kashmiri chai, it was absolutely incredible. I’ve had Kashmiri chai in Bolton, Manchester, and London, but this was by far the closest to what I’ve had in Pakistan—rich, authentic, and perfectly brewed. We stumbled upon this place by accident on the way to another Desi breakfast spot, but it’s now going to be our go-to. To top it all off, they open at 8am, unlike most places that open at 10am, making it perfect for a delicious breakfast after our night shifts. This place is truly a hidden gem, and we can’t recommend it enough!
I've been here a few times, the staff are friendly and helpful, the shop is always clean and a wonderful atmosphere, the chef can't do enough for you when asked to accommodate allergies and my daughter's coeliac, the food is always fresh and delicious, the coffee is amazing. I can definitely recommend.
It’s taken me a while to write this as I’ve emigrated to Australia but I’m still pining after this restaurant. This is the best and freshest Chinese food you’ll try. I’m a coeliac and they very kindly made me gluten free sweet and sour chicken in the batter, they can’t always do this as they’re so busy but will do it without the batter the rest of the time. It’s the BEST! I just wish I could have the recipe to recreate here 😅 the chef is so talented and if I make a trip back to the uk I’ll be stopping off here! The atmosphere is great and you always feel so welcomed. 5 stars
