For the blonde older waitress who insisted you either have a gluten allergy or you don't when I requested a gluten free bread.....Mild gluten intolerance, also known as non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), is a condition where individuals experience adverse reactions to gluten, but without the intestinal damage seen in celiac disease. Symptoms can vary but often include digestive issues like bloating and diarrhea, fatigue, headaches, and skin problems. While a gluten-free diet is the primary management approach for both conditions, NCGS may allow for occasional, small amounts of gluten without causing long-term harm. She must have been having an off day because the previous day she was more pleasant. Most days everything is great ..today felt very abrasive.
I had the most delightful experience at Cafe Avellino, thanks to the incredible Teresa. From the moment I contacted her to discuss my birthday celebration for 10 girls, she was incredibly accommodating and helpful.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was bursting with authentic Italian flavors and made with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. Teresa worked with me to create a customized menu that perfectly suited our tastes and dietary restrictions. Whether you're gluten-free, dairy-free, or have any other dietary needs, Cafe Avellino has you covered.
I highly recommend Cafe Avellino for anyone seeking a truly memorable dining experience. Teresa's passion for Italian cuisine and her dedication to providing exceptional service make it a hidden gem in the area.
The young lady working handled the situation-beautifully and with humor.
10 online sandwich orders, training 2 brand new employees and making sure gluten allergies were handled properly.
She is a hustler and whoever owns this shop is lucky to have her. Rachel is her name.
Had a lovely dinner here with my hubby. This was our first visit and really enjoyed. All the food was really good and our server was great.
The menu was clearly labeled for gluten free options.
One of the major reasons I come to Bertuccis in Swampscott is to enjoy the fabulous service provided by Trish at the bar. No request is ever too much for her and she always makes you feel at home and very welcomed. She rocks.
I also love the food here. I am gluten free and there are so many options including the new cauliflower pizza crusts. As well, the oven roasted eggplant parmigiana is scrumptious.
I don’t want to forget to mention The manager Gary. He is always so attentive to the customers and obviously supportive to the staff. It’s a good feeling.
I do miss a lunch portion of eggplant parmesan...
For a chain restaurant, the food remains quite good.
Little G is our favorite spot in the North Shore! We're there at least once a week and it always feels like a warm hug <3 The staff treat each other like family, and in turn treat their customers the same.
Chef Gregg, the staff -- Arley, Lauren, Maria, Franny, Lindsey (and more!)-- are all absolutely phenomenal. If I could give it 1000/5 stars, I would.
And that doesn't even include the food! Everything there is done from scratch -- and if you're a Ranch lover, its top notch. My husband literally asks for extra in our to-go boxes. We've gotten nearly everything off the menu and have never once had anything less than an excellent meal in an excellent atmosphere. They're always trying and testing something new, ever evolving -- yet keeping the classics (if you haven't tried their nachos -- you're missing out!). We sometimes even order the pizza as gluten free (even though we're not GF sensitive), because its just that good!
I had my Bridal Shower next door at their sister & original restaurant, G Bar, and my entire family and friends were so impressed! The people, the food, the vibe -- fantastic.
Swampscott is a small town with a lot of love, and you can feel exactly that when you enter Little G / G Bar.
Whether you're headed there solo, or with your significant other, or more family/friends -- Little G is the spot to go for a great night and great conversation <3
There's no better spot.
Enelice was an amazing server! She called us her loves whenever she came over to the table and created such a warm and welcoming environment. Food was great. I have a gluten allergy and they were super accommodating. Will come back!
