An excellent meal at a great Italian restaurant. The service was very good even on a busy Saturday evening. Gluten free options were readily available. Pasta with prawns.
Gluten free, fish was beautiful, lovely crispy coating, nice and fresh.
Homemade tartar sauce was delicious as was the curry sauce, and we loved the family history, about the chip shop.
Would highly recommended if in Eastbourne
Fantastic all round! Lucy was very friendly throughout and provided great service, alingside the relaxed, welcoming vibe of the place. Food was delicious and arrived quickly - they also do a dedicated gluten free menu with plenty to choose from.
Always have trouble eating out as I'm gluten-free and dairy-fre e. But had a good choice of food to choose from. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable which helped. We're definitely recommend it to people similar as me.and we'll be going back again
Wonderful authentic Greek food and welcome. My parents lived in Greece for many years and love this place. Gluten free was very clearly labelled and lots of choice!
Big thank you to the staff at Pizza Express Eastbourne for my daughters 8th birthday party today. She had a great time with her friends and the chef was fantastic with the children. They also kindly catered for two children with very specific dietary requirements which was very much appreciated. They were even able to make a base with everyone else so they didn’t feel left out and then swapped this out for a gluten free base with their own selection of toppings. The pizzas they all made were huge and they had a really generous amount of toppings to use. As well as that they had dough balls whilst waiting, ice cream at the end and they were all given boxes so they could take the rest of their pizza home. Thank you for great service and a great birthday experience.
We had a fantastic evening at Bistrot Pierre. The food was exceptional as was the service by our waitress Ells. This restaurant has impressive sea views and caters very well for gluten free / coeliacs.
Chef Davide and his wife Carla moved to the UK in 2015, having run a successful vegan restaurant in their native Sardinia for many years, and opened Ancient Grains in the popular Meads Village in Eastbourne a few years ago. The restaurant has proved very successful, serving traditional, and rather delicious Sardinian dishes. Following a recent refurbishment the restaurant has just re-opened from Thurs-Sun, and the really good news is that Sardinian Sunday roasts are now on the menu for the first time! Between us, we had roast lamb, pork, and chicken, all beautifully cooked and wonderfully tender, having been thoroughly marinated beforehand. Instead of the traditional English accompaniments of greens and Yorkshire pudding, was a mixture of red peppers and chicory, alongside potatoes and carrots. Homemade garlic toast was an interesting addition. So, if you fancy Sunday lunch with a difference, why not give it a try. For dessert we had a dark orange truffle with cashew nuts, maple syrup and orange zest, served with homemade vanilla ice cream: vegan, gluten-free, and delicious!
On other days, the restaurant offers a walk-in menu, or for those who book in advance, a more extensive pre-order menu. The pasta dishes are particularly good, with the pasta made on site, including a gluten-free option, which is very welcome.
Almost unbelievably delicious food, and such a wonderful surprise to find such a restaurant in Eastbourne! I was so grateful to be able to eat allergen-free in such an intimate little place, so close to the sea and my hotel: Tim and Kitty were solicitous and friendly hosts, and what they prepared was out of this world good! I sort of hope it doesn't become too popular (though it should) because it is so cosy and cute. My nut roast and veggies, and the cheesecake (gluten-free as well as vegan) were so very flavourful, just up my street, and the quantities were very generous for the prices they were. An outstanding experience...I'll be back, whenever I'm in Eastbourne!
The Tennis Cafe at Gildridge Park in Eastbourne is a delightful spot that combines a passion for tennis with a warm and welcoming dining experience. Established in 2009, the cafe offers a cozy atmosphere where visitors can enjoy delicious food and excellent coffee while overlooking the park's tennis courts. One of the standout features of the cafe is its community-centric approach. This is my favourite place to eat in, or get a take-away lunch. Fresh healthy salads, beautiful gluten free cakes and a friendly service. The seating is comfortable, the decor really tasteful and it's just a great place to be.
Really looking forward to hosting Monday morning Mindful drop-ins starting on 14th April.
Living locally, I have been here several times as it is walking distance from our house and has an amazing view. I am coeliac and need to follow a gluten free diet. I have eaten here three times. Every time I have suffered afterwards and so no longer eat here. I checked before I ate every time and was told my choice was gluten free or adaptable etc. Be very careful if you are also gluten free/coeliac. There are safer options in town.
I tried their vegan and gluten free menu, too. Everything advertised were available and delicious, freshly made, nicely plated, quite big portions were served.
Super welcoming, really lovely thoughtful team, and delicious food. You can taste that it is fresh and homemade.
They were happy to adjust things to accommodate gluten free and dairy free dietary requirements. I'll be coming back regularly!
My work trip was good. The hotel was quiet at this time of the year. A few daytime functions. I worked in Eastbourne 2 of the 3 days. 1 day spent at the hotel. Room was clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Mattress uncomfortable. Told staff tried to add a board under the mattress. Would have maybe expected a little more.
Over all beautiful sea views. Room has coffee and a fridge. Desk and seating.
Food catered for gluten-free and vegetarians.
We had an amazing room. 2 doors that lead onto balconies with great views out to sea. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The bar area was lovely and served food. The drinks were reasonably priced. The breakfast was amazing. Loads of choice. They provided gluten-free bread for my daughter, as well as gluten-free cereals and oat and almond milk. I will definitely stay here again. The rooms were spotless.
By far the best pub in Eastbourne. The menu has a great variety of dishes including gluten free and vegan options. The food is incredible (especially the pies!). The staff are wonderful every time I visit and it’s a favourite when I have guests to stay. Today I had a Brie, Truffle and butternut squash tart and it was unbelievable!
We came here for lunch today. We had excellent service by both the barman and waiter. We were really impressed with the gluten free sandwich offerings. We ordered fish goujon GF sandwiches. These were prepared by the chef with a GF batter without hassle.
Plenty of parking and space inside. Takes dogs too.
Will be back soon.
Good, authentic Thai food with gluten free options in a pleasant restaurant close to the centre. Could have been slightly warmer but service was quick. The only negative point is that the male staff only addressed me and not my wife which felt a bit awkward and upsetting. This may have been unintentional but is worth thinking about. Good value at £20 a head for a meal and drink each.
This was an absolutely wonderful restaurant. The food was incredible, they had a Gluten free menu at the back which had a great variety, and it tasted divine! thank you so much, we will definitely be coming back!
Brunch / Lunch / Coffee
Meeting with friends! 😀
Severina served us and she was lovely.
We had coffee and brunch which was very tasty ❤️ They had gluten free options which was great!!
They brought me a blanket because I was chilly... They made me feel super special and taken care of here.
I'll be back xxxxxxx
We like doing here when we are out walking the dogs as plenty of outside seating, some with shade. The is also seating inside. Good value for lunch and coffee, nice selection on the menu. They do gluten free options too.
Such a lovely hotel, clean rooms and great seaviews. Great customer service and all the staff were great. Great gluten free options for breakfast. Would go back again.
Decent Chinese food with gluten free options. In Meads Village a 30min walk from the centre or catch the 3A bus. Service was quick. The sweet and sour chicken was good, not outstanding, and I enjoyed my veggie 5 spice Tofu, reasonable value at £44 for 2 meals and drinks.
Beautiful cafe/tearoom. Lovely art deco building. The staff were super friendly. The hot chocolate was divine as was the lemon cake. They also had delicious gluten free options for my friend. We had a lovely time and will definitely be returning. Thank you 🙏🏼
Although I have given this place 5* for food that is only true if you consider ice cream a food.
Service was excellent, was being served by a young lady almost as soon as my party stood at the ice cream counter.
She was attentive and patient as there was 5 if us, my great nephew being gluten intolerant, and was great that they had a full list on the wall showing what ice creams he could have. They had quite a few!!!!
The flavours were many and varied, although a bit short on any sorbet ice cream.
The lady took her time, making sure she rinsed her serving tool between scoops.
As for the atmosphere, the place was pretty full, inside and out as it was a hot sunny day.
All in all, a great place to go for food and especially for ice cream.
If I have any negative about this place it would be lack of parking places, but then it's Eastbourne seafront and very very popular.

Great takeaway this evening, thank you! This is the third Thai restaurant I've tried since moving to Eastbourne and it was the best. 👌
Quality ingredients, great flavours, interesting menu choices and food arrived piping hot. Rice was the best I can remember - soft and moist. Lovely service on the phone and so accommodating to my gluten free requirements. I'll be coming back for sure. 😃
Location is great and food was amazing, however unfortunately we had the truly baffling experience of a manager, Callum, telling bizzare lies instead of admitting he made a simple mistake. Long review incoming- hoping the owners will see so they can address this with the staff member.
One of our party is coeliac, so when ordering with Callum at the bar we spent a good few minutes discussing allergens in the roast dinner she was ordering. He confirmed yorkshire pudding was the only item with gluten as an ingredient, and had my friend read and sign the waiver outlining allergen handling in their kitchen. We asked if the yorkshire pudding could be served on a seperate plate for another member of our party to eat- he explained this would not be possible due to cross contamination policies for meals flagged as allergens. This was not a problem, we ordered the roast along with three fish and chip meals. He asked if they had coeliac requirements aswell, we told him no.
When our food was delivered, our waitress was suprised to be delivering only three fish and chips to a party of four. We advised we were still waiting on a gluten free roast. She went to check and upon return advised us her manager, Callum, told her it was never ordered.
It's obvious he forgot to put it through, which is fine as mistakes happen. However what followed was the bizzare experience of him insiting to both his colleague, and us, that we never ordered it and he was not at fault.
We explained to our waitress we definitely ordered it, and spoke with Callum at length about allergens when we did. He told her we definitely did not- putting her in an exceptionally awkward position as she could only pass on what he told her. She was very polite and professional, and arranged for the kitchen to rush the order for us.
My friend went to speak to Callum, who point blank refused to acknowledge he had forgotten to put the order through. He told her 'your friend (me) only ordered the three fish and chips, I thought it was weird she didn't order for you'. We were quite literally together at the bar at point of ordering.
At this point I went to speak to him. I told him i understand errors happen, however it was wildly innapropriate he was choosing to lie about us rather than simply apologise. He told me to my face he 'confirmed twice' we did not want it. I told him we both knew what wasn't the truth, and he clearly made a simply mistake- all he could say was 'I am sorry you feel that way' - it was like talking to a smug brick wall.
Overall a lovely place with lovely servers, let down by an aloof manager who cannot accept he is capable of error. I feel very sorry for the staff working with him, and advise any patrons to steer clear of him when dining there.
To clarify, a simple 'sorry' was all that was ever needed.
Wonderful service with super friendly and efficient staff. Lovely bright interior and great range of options. Many vegan options and I had one of the tomato, mozerella and pesto paninis with gluten free bread, and a gluten free almond and raspberry slice. Both tasted incredible, as did the turmeric lattes and matcha lattes 😍 will definitely be back!
Fantastic food, brilliant service and a great price. I thought we couldn't ask for more, but then it turned out they do vegan milkshakes and gluten-free burger buns! Absolutely marvellous.
I had the lemon bass fillets off the specials menu. It was divine. Glad to see there were gluten free options too.
Would deffo eat here again if we came back to the area.
There were 3 of us dining. 2 drinks each. £90
Firstly, I have got to apologise... I was expecting standard 'pub grub' but I was wrong. Absolutely amazing. My wife is gluten free and we noticed that there was gluten free options so she opted for the gluten free fish and chips and I had the ploughman's. The fish and chips did appear pale compared to normal fish and chips but don't be decived, my wife stated it was the best she had tasted...... Thank you... The service and staff added to the experience. It is definately on our return list.
