While the food was delicious, the views spectacular and the service excellent, it strikes me as strange that they can't supply mushrooms or a 'oven roasted tomato' with a steak meal when you tell them you are dairy and gluten intolerant. Surely a little bit of oil and a frying pan would be available in a commercial kitchen. So I am guessing they just couldn't be bother accommodating food intolerance requirements fully.
Called in on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago and asked if the hot chocolate was gluten free as my girlfriend is celiac to be met with an awful attitude from the woman serving us. It was so bad that we felt uncomfortable to the point of going elsewhere.
This is the nicest Gluten free meal i have ever had. I have multiple dietary requirements including anaphylaxis and Chef accommodated me so well. The waiting staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive (i witnessed one waiter from his own initiative help a mother and her baby in a pram out of a booth once she was finished dining before she would have struggled manoeuvring). The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. The food is so fresh and i believe from what i tasted Chef makes everything from scratch right down to his own tobacco onions and peppercorn sauce. The prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are perfect. We aren't local but will definitely make the journey back again regularly. (Pics are of my gluten free meal, chicken goujons with fries and sweet chilli. Apple and raspberry crumble with dairy free icecream.)
Went last night, told I had to wait for table for half an hour even though there were at least three free tables. Asked for coffees while waited didn't come till before pizza arrived. They could not make a gluten free garlic bread? Base, butter and garlic??
When the pizza came it was cold and dry, with hardly any cheese and i had to get more tomato sauce, think I will stick to good fellas frozen gluten free pizza in future :(
Got food tonight. Not as good as normal. Gluten free fish wafer thin and over cooked. Chips greasy. Complained on phone to Stewart. Said he would pass on my comments.....really to who? No offer of replacing. Next time I will examine and bring straight back in again. Disappointed.
Food is great, menu is suitable for different diets vegetarian, gluten free etc. Staffs and food are amazing, great service. Compliments to the chef and staffs.
Has become my go to for a Latte after my seapark beach walk and danders round Holywood, can’t fault it coffee always nice the scones are goodness and the sausage rolls are excellent, also does some gluten free tray ales which caters for my wife’s celiac diagnosis, lovely spot and there is an outside bit if you have the dog out for a walk.
We came here as a large group on Christmas Eve, we ate very well, our dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy free) were well catered to and taken seriously.
The service was very good and staff helpful & friendly.
The food was fantastic and we look forward to eating here again.
Super nice and cosy cafe - all 100% vegan. They also accommodate for a gluten free diet and were very attentive and informative about the ingredients and options. Food was really tasty and service was fast and friendly. Would 100% recommend. There’s also a shop which stocks vegan ingredients, groceries and treats.
