What a wonderful place. We stumbled upon this town by chance, and found this cute little café. We went there for breakfast with our pup, and not only is it super dog friendly, with dog beds available, water and treat, the food is also delicious. The owner is lovely, the café is beautifully decorated, we have had a wonderful time. It's 100% worth to visit. Thank you so much! Also, they do have plenty of gluten free and dairy free options!

THIS PLACE HAS CHANGED!! What has happened?!?! Has there been a change in management in recent times? This place was the "GO TO" each summer we visit this beautiful harbour town. There was always a queue on the street to wait and that was always OK, we didbt mind, because everything used to be absolutely outstanding. Excited for this summers return trip with the family, we raced down the hill from the car park to find that there was no queue outside (bit odd on a bank holiday weekend, this place had them queing outside the street year on year) furthermore, some random DJ advertisement on the window outside and I instantly thought "What's happened?!?" Upon entering the premises we found no sign of the familiar friendly staff waiting to greet us and sit us down. Furthermore there was no sign to say "sorry this isn't table service anymore" either, just a cold stare from a dark haired girl behind the bar and a point to a table in the window. My heart sank, I knew this place had changed and it was starting to feel like I had never been here before. After 10 minutes of waiting, I went to the bar to ask "is it order at the bar now?" The lady nodded and pointed to some menus on a nearby dresser. Why not have a sign to tell the returning customers that service has now changed? Think of the customer journey. The food was higher in price which was to be expected in this cost of living crisis, but if the quality was the same then we wouldn't mind. We are certainly all for supporting small businesses. The fish and chips used to be crispy, light and all the batter used to be gluten free, no matter who ordered. It was the standard recipe. The peas used to be salty and minted accompanied by the most delicious creamy homemade tarter sauce. This is what had us returning year after year!!! Well sadly it's nothing like this now. 😢 It's a cheap HEINZ sachet of sauce, a small dollop of some bland mushy peas and the chips tasted like they had been reheated (starchy!!) I was in despair, what had happened to our beloved holiday eating spot!! 😢 The GF fish batter was the soggy, pale, bicarbonate of soda rubbish you get anywhere, it's cheap and nasty. Where has that secret recipe gone?? This place used to be a cut above the rest, a reason to travel into Mevagissey, and now ... it's... just an average place to eat. The quality is on par with a weatherspoons but more expensive. Absolutely gutted, it must have changed hands, what a huge shame!! Our family tradition of eating here is now over and we are on the hunt for a new place. Its just not the same. I agree with the other customers statement that previous reviews are no longer valid, they are of the old days, the old management and old team. New management need to work this out or they will certainly keep losing customers. EDIT IN RESPONSE: 1) No one came to check on us or how the food was, the establishment as you say is "bar service" 2) We did ask for fresh tarter sauce and was told its no longer part of the menu. 3) If you see our previous reviews you will know we have eaten at many a 5* restaurant and your chef certainly isnt at this standard at all. Perhaps some porkie pies on the CV ??? 4) it does unfortunately look like that across Google, trip advisor and more the negative reviews are starting to stack up. We can't all be wrong?

My wife and I book our holidays locally and without fail we visit Little Bay Cafe. My wife is gluten intolerant and they do excellent brie bacon and cranberry baguettes. In fact we have virtually worked our way through the entire menu and have enjoyed every bite! The coffees are really mellow and prepared properly. The Cornish cream teas are a delight and they have an excellent range of cakes, the Rocky Road is divine. The service is first class. All the staff work hard, and it shows in the quality of service. Having been in the catering industry for over 25 years I feel I'm reasonably qualified to know the true meaning of an excellent service!! Bob and Stephanie Thomas

We visited here twice whilst we were staying locally. Both times the food was excellent. We had the Sunday Roast, we went for the large and it was massive, definitely only needed a small. The meat was amazing, just fell apart and melted in the mouth. A couple of us have coeliac disease, so was great they could offer a gluten free version, it just came without a Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and cauliflower cheese. The second time we visited we got the burger and fish and chips gluten free and it was just as good as the first time we went. They did say the 4 ounce burger patties weren’t gluten free, so they gave me a 6 ounce patty with the bacon and cheese instead, it even came with gluten free onion rings which I wasn’t expecting! Also very dog friendly, the second time they even brought out a pot of gammon offcuts for the dog! We would definitely return if we were in the area.

Fantastic quality food and cooking. Visited several times, always A*. Recommend going for something other than steak, as when the cookings this good, you will be rewarded in letting them show their skills. Not to say it won’t be a great steak…! What’s really great to see is the effort that goes into the menu for vegetarians, Celiacs. Near every course can be made suitable for various dietary requirements and its clearly shown. Well done 👏 This was the Cod with colcannon potatoes and wild mushrooms. Fantastic.

Fantastic food - as well as incredibly delicious, the colour choices for vibrancy were just so attractive! 👌 We shared the extremely tasty vegan 'Buddha bowl' & slow-roasted veg toasted (sourdough) bread. We followed up with a brownie - such a surprise to find something both gluten and dairy-free - perfect with a crisp outside and the gooeyness inside! Coffees, again (we were here yesterday!), just right - I even had frothed hot oak milk, which come in cute mini milk bottles! We return here every time we come here on holiday and we will be back, both this vacation and another year, I'm sure!

We had a brilliant visit to Trevithick And Trays Farm Shop And Cafe this morning. The sausage, bacon, and egg baps were delicious – and my partner was really pleased that they offered a gluten-free bread option for her bap, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The hot chocolate was lovely and warming, and the Americano was a hit too. What's also great is that they have a nice farm shop and even undercover outdoor seating for those with dogs. As a celiac when I go to a place and speak to staff it helps that they know what I'm talking about. Not only did the Skip Inn have a good selection of food and desserts, they clearly indicated they were gluten free. Better yet the chef is a celiac so immediately understood. They fry in a separate fryer, and take care with customers needs. Excellent value as well.
