It’s always a treat to visit Bread & Butter and today’s food from the takeaway side was delicious. I love that special dietary requirements are catered for (something that’s sorely lacking in so many establishments, unless you’re happy with an unappealing, factory-produced, cellophane-wrapped bar). Here, you can get something from the fresh cakes section that’s vegan, gluten free, or .. *pause for dramatic effect*… both! Imagine! All this, plus the warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly service and the BEST oat milk lattes served anywhere means Bread & Butter is my favourite coffee shop by a country mile.

We had a lovely family meal and all enjoyed our food very much. Two of us are gluten free and dairy free and one is dairy free. We had plenty of choice and the food was delicious, we loved the gf pizza bases, best we have had eating out. Service was great apart from obvious staff shortage and a mix up with the order - but staff dealt with this very well.

My wife, our 6 month old puppy and I stayed for two nights at the start of March and had such a relaxing weekend staying here. Easily the best all round experience staying here compared to anywhere else in the South West and for a fraction of the price of other places. We were made to feel so welcome, including the dog. Every member of staff was lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate us. We stayed in one of the rooms in the new section at the back of the pub which had everything we needed; fridge, coffee machine, the comfiest bed, towels and gowns, a welcome package for the dog and dry robes! It was super clean, quiet at night and felt like our own little apartment. Good options at breakfast and gluten-free alternatives for my gluten-ignorant wife. Can’t recommend The Rising Sun enough.
