Love this spot!
Heaps of gluten free and vegan options.
The egg bowl looked very tasty, and the BLT sandwich was a slam dunk. Also loved my matcha 🍵
Great vibes, great people, great food.
Such a fantastically cozy dinner vibe! Potatoes were scrumptious and we loved all of our breakfasts. Gluten free bread isn’t bad!
Loved our time here and would definitely come back. Terrific service as well. There’s a beautiful beach right across the street too if you have to wait a bit for a table.
This is such a cute place. We've been coming to Tahoe for 14 years and rent a cabin down the street from Tahoe House. The staff is always so wonderful. I was able to get some gf donut mix, muffins, and cookies. They can also make sandwiches on gf wraps.
It was nice to come still eve not being able to have gluten and being able to enjoy such a treasure on the lake.
We had the most incredible experience at Sunnyside Restaurant Lodge for our wedding! Our guests who stayed in the rooms couldn’t stop raving about the exceptional quality of service and the delicious breakfast. Allie, our coordinator, was an absolute gem—super personable and fantastic at making game-time decisions, especially during our unforgettable blizzard wedding in May!
Chef Christian truly outdid himself with an entirely gluten-free menu that everyone could enjoy. The food was a hit with all our guests, and we loved that it catered to different dietary needs without compromising on flavor. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with a dedicated team and amazing food, look no further than Sunnyside! Highly recommend!
Wolfdale’s is a jewel in Tahoe City. Chef Douglas Dale’s training in Japan inspires the Asian fusion menu. Each dish reflects the best of the season. The beautiful presentation is only surpassed by the melt-in-your mouth dishes that will please any discerning palate. The fresh oysters, scallops, poke cones, and smoked trout appetizers are some of our favorites. The sashimi plates feature fish from Japan. The Duck Breast, Steak and Lobster, and Thai stew are some of my favorites. However, the Parmesan Petroleum Sole, the Sea Bass, and the Octopus are some of the best dishes on the West Coast. They are able to accommodate gluten sensitive and lactose intolerant dietary restrictions. We eat here often and are never disappointed. They have an extensive wine list and BP, Bob and Linda make just coming in for Happy Hour an a fun experience. The food, the service and the staff keep us coming back.
Food and drinks were delish at incredible price for the quality. Fresh hand battered chicken sandwich and beautiful delicate butter lettuce on my burger. They offer the choice for gluten-free sandwiches as well.
After living in the area for 7.5 years we thought maybe we should FINALLY figure out how to visit this restaurant. We went recently for my birthday and I am beyond happy we did! Our server, Margaret, was funny, witty, kind, and attentive. She helped make a dinner date with my husband feel so special. My husband has the stroganoff with sirloin (warning, it has a LOT of mushrooms!) and I had the chicken which was one of SEVERAL gluten free options! I was thrilled to have something other than salads or a personal pizza to pick from! Our meals were amazing. I rarely finish an entire plate at a restaurant like this but this was the exception. I was actually sad that there wasn't anything left to eat except a small drumstick (not a fan of that part). Margaret checked in the perfect amount of times, added extra cherries to my Shirley Temple (don't judge me, I like them) and put a beautiful candle in my flour less chocolate cake. The cake was decadent and the perfect texture.
I have no suggestions to improve the experience EXCEPT maybe re-padding the chair cushions ;)
The vibe is casual but refined. Someone coming off the river would be just as home as a bunch of people dressed in Sunday best. I look forward to coming back and trying lunch on the patio this summer!
Reservations are STRONGLY recommended especially if you want a river view. Definitely recommend for a nice evening out, anniversary, date night, birthday or just because!
Lovely setting with great food. Cozy restaurant with friendly experienced staff. Great gluten free options for celiac. Some tables looked a little packed in but we had an open 4 top by the bar (still with nice view of the lake). Only downside in the parking lot is a little tough to negotiate if busy.
They have the best sandwiches and smoothies around. The gluten free bread is the best I have tasted. Many healthy choices for those with dietary limitations
Highly recommend. It’s popular so can be crowded. Seating limited. Nice staff.
We had a GREAT experience at this restaurant. Our waitress was fantastic, she was knowledgeable about ingredients in food and made sure many people in our party had gluten free dinners. Every dinner, drink and dessert we ordered in our party of 8 was amazing.
We stayed nearby and got takeaway. My husband went in to order the chicken fritters and as someone who hasn't been able to eat gluten in years - they were great!! I didn't see them on the online menu, but my husband ordered them at the bar.
I mean... It's a place to eat, but the food was sub par if I'm being honest. Mac&cheese side was served cold, menu wasn't updated, the available sauce was one flavor and not very flavorful. Drinks were dramatically over priced ($14 for a 12 oz drink with a shot of rum). Not impressed in the least. Asked about a gluten free menu (which online something did mention a gluten free menu otherwise I wouldn't have asked) and there was none.
Four different people with different food orders and not one element was even minimally satisfactory.
