Lovely place, you can eat outside and more importantly for me you can eat glutenfree. I am celiac and I had no problems what so ever. Thank you! Very much appreciated.
My friend and I always get the gluten free version of fish sandwich with onion rings, always delicious 😋 Great service, nice atmosphere and great food!
Food and service were both AMAZING! So glad our AirBnB host suggested we try this restaurant! 2 in our group are gluten free and found wonderful options to enjoy. The house dressing is great! We had grouper, scallops, shrimp and steak - nothing could have been better!
I literally can not describe how delicious the pizza is here! I have to eat gluten-free, and the crust is so good! We live out of town, and this is always our first and last stop every time! Mouth watering! Fantastic and friendly service! The restaurant looks so good since construction, too! Anyways I'd give 10 stars for Mama's Italian Restaurant!!!
The service was amazing, and the food was spectacular. Our group had the sea bass, cab cakes, and Prime Rib. For appetizers, we had the shrimp cocktail and oysters amazing.. The cocktails are also great.
The gluten-free options are excellent. We have the gluten-free key lime pie to go, amazing. The view from the top floor is spectacular. #glutenfree #manesota key. #englewood #Florida
The gentleman who waited on us was excellent. Coffee was brewed as I watched and the Americanos were amazing. The gluten free coffee cake was to die for. Definitely making this a weekly treat!
This restaurant is good if you’re looking for somewhere with gluten free items marked on the menu. However, the service was not great. They brought my cousin out the wrong dish and then the waitress insisted that it was correct, they had simply run out of linguini. We asked her to take it to the back and then they finally agreed to make the correct dish. We were not impressed by the food flavors.
I grew up eating authentic Italian, and Nicola's is the only Italian restaurant in the area that comes closest to the flavors I grew up with. They have amazing sauce that they jar and sell, too. If you are sensitive to gluten, their cauliflower crust pizza is the BEST.
The food is very much lacking and the prices are sky high because of the amazing location next to the beach and bay. Their mac and cheese is obviously straight out of a Kraft box and not at all homemade and baked like the menu says. Sweet potato fries are not dessert and should never have sugar and cinnamon on them. The fries have some kind of breading on them and aren’t gluten free. The nachos were meh. Wings were ok as was the burger. It’s just okay overpriced bar food really which makes sense since most people are coming here to drink anyway. The staff are nice and sometimes there’s redneck bands playing music for entertainment.
Wow!!!! Quite literally, the best food in Florida that we have yet to find. The menu items are creative and the combinations, like pears honey and blue cheese, are not something I’d think of but the whole is greater than the sum of its delicious parts. There are a number of gluten free items on the menu, they have gluten free carrot cake, and they have gluten free bread. So the items with ciabatta can be made gluten free.
Do you know how hard it is to find a really good gazpacho? It’s hard. Sure, you may say, it’s only cold tomato soup. And I think a lot of restaurants treat it that way. But you have to have the proper spices and background flavors like cucumber. Their gazpacho is the best I’ve had outside of my own. Buyer beware: it’s a bit spicy hot. If that’s not your thing, steer clear.
We were delighted that we found Vino Loco. 6 stars out of 5.
We came early evening in the summer and it was not very busy. Englewood seems like a sleepy old Florida town. I kind of hope you don’t read this. Then the next time we come, Vino Loco will give us a relaxed chill dining experience.
For their sake, I hope you read this and go there. You-and they- deserve your patronage.
P.S. and the gluten free carrot cake? Stop. Please. Just stop. It’s not allowed to be this good. I’m calling the authorities. Kidding. But do you know how hard it is to find good carrot cake on a restaurant? Again, most places look at it like Sara Lee with carrots. Just too much damn sugar. This one is perfectly balanced. Again, a true gem. Great carrot cake. Gluten free folk, trust me when I say this: if you long to try carrot cake but have been unable to try it: indulge. This is what carrot cake tastes like. It’s a great carrot cake, hands down.
PPS dinner was 37 each including one drink for me. We are stuffed. Not bad at all
Love this place! Everyone here makes you feel so welcomed. The owner is always going around to talk to his customers. Manager, Chelsea is fantastic, also going around to talk to customers. Food is fantastic! Had someone in our party who was gluten free, the server was very knowledgeable about the items that they could make gluten free. Even their mashed potatoes and gravy are gluten free! The tiki has an amazing atmosphere, very laid back vibe. Live music everyday. This is for sure a hidden gem! 10/10.
The food from the chips and salsa all the way through our entrees was excellent. The blackberry margarita was superlative and generous. Our lunch portions could easily have been dinner portions. You should go. So good. Server was familiar with our gluten free needs.
Food was excellent! Our server Katie was very friendly. My husband is gluten free ordered the Greek wrap gluten free and they were all out of gluten free bread Katie suggested to make the wrap into tacos using corn tortillas and he loved it! Very accommodating we will be back
Love this place on canopy road right up from Englewood beach. The restaurant has a great view that faces the bay. The service was attentive and kept our water glasses filled. The food was great prices were reasonable. I had the sea bass and my wife had the Acorn squash dish. The drink were well made and the wine list reasonable. We had desert and that was also well prepared. My wife is vegetarian and we both are gluten-free. The menu had plenty of options for both. We will go back and can recommend this place. The parking is sparse but don’t let that keep you from visiting this place as one of the better places in the area.
Ordered 2 pizzas for delivery, on Dec 27th. They were very fast in getting the order too us. The reason for my 2 star rating is for 1 of the pizzas.
I ordered a regular crust pizza for myself, which was good. The gluten-free pizza for my wife, was not. It was over cooked and the crust was hard, she could only eat the center of the pizza. I call and ended up talking to the manager who informed me that we should have ordered it lightly cooked. If that is the case, why is that not mentioned on-line. He told me he would send us a coupon for a free pizza to cover the cost and to wait a week for it to arrive. Guess it got lost in the mail, because it has been over 2 weeks and we have not received a thing.
Not a good way to do business Domino's!
