Adorable, fun, aesthetically pleasing little spot! Also, one of the best cappuccinos I had in a long time. I wanted to buy everything! It makes you happy just being in there. However, we weren’t overly impressed with the food- the grilled cheese was bitter and the servicing of burrata was on the small side. The ambience made up for it though and I will be returning. Fabulous selection of gifts, food and wine - an absolute delight. Gluten free bread options available for $2.

A welcome addition to the neighborhood! Royale is a great place for lunch with quality smoked meat sandwiches and a few other vegetarian and gluten free options. Milkshakes are great, too!

Was so excited to return to Chaval for dinner after COVID prevented us from eating out. Our cocktails were complex and delicious. The deviled eggs were fantastic. The pan con tomate was good but too salty. Our second courses of beets and shrooms were amazing. The star of the meal was supposed to be steak frites, which turned out to be very disappointing and almost inedible. The NY Strip was tough and stringy. When this was brought to the server's attention, she said nothing. When the bill came they gave us an order of churros which seemed like a kick in the gut as the two orders of steak came to $74, and one of us is gluten free so couldn't eat the churros, even if we wanted to. Chaval is a high end, reputable restaurant and to have this handled so poorly is upsetting, disappointing, and kind of insulting. Desperately wanted it to be a great meal and night out....

Boasting the best cocktails in Portland with a lounge ambiance straight from NYC's famed Death & Co, it's rated as the top happy hour spot in town.
