I’ve been wanting to try Alma Cocina Latina since I moved to the area and last night I was finally able to! 5/25/25. Thank you to Kanae, Mauricio, and Kez! You guys made a great impression and a wonderful experience in addition to a great meal 💜 Shout out to the chefs and line cooks. I can tell that these dishes are carefully thought out and curated. Everything I ate was delicious. Since it was my first visit, and was excited to see so many gluten free items, I wanted to try different dishes! Also, Punch like a lady was soooo good and compliments the food well! I’m a line cook myself and I don’t get to have food cooked for me often, so anytime I’m able to, it’s greatly appreciated. I will be returning, Thank you!
Baby's on Fire is a Mt. Vernon neighborhood gem! The staff are kind and attentive. I am especially appreciative to have gluten-free options, including the breakfast sandwiches! Thank you for changing gloves and the cutting board to avoid cross-contamination. Also, I love their Community Card Program that provides meals and drinks to our unhoused and/or hungry neighbors. This is a special place.
This was the most incredible Indian food we’ve ever had! The service was so attentive and the food was rich in quality and flavor. I am gluten and dairy free and there were tons of options!
CHECK IN: It has been so many years since I have had such an outstanding dining experience! From the doorman, to check, to the waitress, to the kitchen it was all superlative.
SERVER: Gratitude Jayna for being so personable and we noticed you never once needed a pad. How it should be at fine dining.
CHEF/KITCHEN: Gratitude to the Exec Chef who was already aware of my allergies and had briefed Jayna on what I could NOT have! Of course this was communicated to Chefs from the front staff so, well done! The best part was adjusting a dish to suit my disability (Coeliac disease & anaphylaxis food allergies). You've outshone others here. When I say others, I means 5 star-diamond hotel dining experiences.
AMBIENCE : The ambience is most suitable for a date.
FOOD: The food! Ohhh myyy, dear, we are still discussing the flavoursome food, days later! Gratitude for providing us such an amazing experience.
RECOMMENDATION: I shall return! Yes, recommended for a date night or small business dinner.
Finally Came here for the first time. Service was nice and quick. Although the written menu isn’t the best to read, I’m glad the cashier was nice enough to partially tell me what was gluten free. She was interrupted by the cook (maybe manager) who let me know what I could have.
I got the red lentil and lemon soup. It was nice. It wasn’t hearty like I’d thought it would be, more of a puree soup. Still a nice texture and flavor.
The eat in area does need a good sweep and mop on the floors. There’s no trash on the floor but it can feel kind of dirty to sit and eat in a very dusty area
Walked in here by accident and will return! My server, Allegra, was very nice and informative! I love charcuterie but rarely order it when I go out because of my gluten allergy. Thankfully this place had gluten free crackers so I could enjoy it! The pomegranate onion jam? Delicious! I also had the Spanish Paella, could be more flavorful honestly. The meat and seafood in it was great but the rice itself lacked seasoning. I reheated it at home and had to add more seasoning. But I loved that it was a great portion. I also had the Sangre Del Sol, a blood orange cocktail. It was very good! The couple next to me had a flourless chocolate cake? I can’t wait to try it next time I visit.. Side note the lighting could be better. I had to use my phone light to see the menu
I went with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the veggie combo with 7 veggies and gluten free injera and hot tea for abt $28 before tax and tip. It was the most delicious! I even had leftovers to enjoy later. They don't giveaway the extra gf injera. My friend received an extra serving of regular injera. The staff is friendly. It has a cozy atmosphere, good for date night.
