Came here on Friday night, and it was a little sleepy. The staff were fantastically friendly, and the pizzas came out quick! Sat on their patio, and had a one regular pizza and one gluten free. They warm you the gluten free dough edges come out a little charred, but I wouldn't have known the difference otherwise! Good beer, good pizzas, good staff, what's not to like?
Enjoyed this place for a long time until they took off gluten free options. Sad that I can no longer enjoy pizza there and that they would decide to stop having options to support dietary needs.
The pork sandwich made like a Philly cheese steak was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I even got it on gluten-free bread and it was amazing. My friend and I used to go to Bull and beggar for the Monday burger special. Glad to have the baby bull back in action
First time ever dining here and it was spacious and has a minimalistic warehouse decor that is very cool. Decor was also unique for the fact that you can write all over the walls! The little kid in me thought that was fun.
Friends recommended pulled pork plate so my buddy had that. I did pulled chicken plate which was very tasty. Noticed the many people had similar plate dish and 2 chosen sides - sweet potato mash and collard greens (which has meat in it.) All dishes are gluten free at that's a bonus! Loved the jalapeno sauce best!
Easy order and pay. Pick your own seats. Easy get-your-own silverware, drinks, sauces, and to-go containers in middle area of seating. Definitely would go back again.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch enjoying the outstanding view. Service was attentive and food was delicious. We had the meatballs appetizer, a couple of salads and some pizzas. My daughter (who has Celiacs) loved her gluten-free pizza.
A couple of notes: Google maps will direct you to loading dock on Carter St if use the restaurant's street address. Use "Embassy Suites" as your destination so you get directed to the correct location to drop your car at valet parking, which is the only option if parking at the hotel (it's free for restaurant patrons). The hotel turn-in is at the intersection of Montford & Haywood (with no signage). If you're exiting I-240 at Montford, go straight across Haywood at the traffic light.
Also, and quite oddly, the menu does not indicate which items are gluten-free, and there is no separate gluten-free menu. You have to ask your server about any specific items you're interested in.
We were excited for a rooftop bar, but it was just average in excitement. The cocktail was good, but the place was missing something. No music, heaters weren't on to go outside, but it was cold and foggy. Not much for gluten-free needs.
Best dining experience of our whole week long trip! Arrived early, and were greeted by owner. She made several trips to our table to make sure we were happy. When we told her on the phone that we eat gluten free she had taken the time to mark the menu indicating what we could and could not have. We had the steak, and it was the best steak we have ever had. I have ordered steak in many restaurants, but none have been as perfect as this one. From the outside you would not expect to receive such a delicious gourmet meal! Just sorry we live so far away, or this would be our go to restaurant.
