I can’t say enough great things about Sugarcane and Shepherd Desserts! From the start, Charlotte and her team were so thoughtful and accommodating. They worked with all of our allergies, even making gluten-free cupcakes and adjusting the cake recipe with butter instead of oil. The final result was absolutely delicious, and it was the highlight of the big birthday celebration. We’re so grateful for their kindness and expertise—highly recommend them for any special occasion!

I’m leaving 5 stars because I know to the average persons dietary needs, this place is so wonderful and I don’t want to lower their score simply because I’m on a crazy frustrating GF and dairy free diet. I’m just hoping someone on y’all’s team might hear me out from the other side? Friends, family and I have been patrons of this restaurant for years and it has always been one of my absolute favorites. I love how diverse and delicious your menu is especially for this part of town. After feeling really crummy for a long time I was recently informed I shouldn’t have gluten products or dairy. It has been a difficult adjustment but I am learning and feeling so much better. I have been pretty much living on fruit and veggies at home and after a tough day I thought it might be nice to treat myself to the hip and cool restaurant near me. It’s close so I didn’t mind dropping in and looking at a menu. I found many options in the wraps and things I could sub out (already felt bad for that) they used to be my favorite and everyone’s always been so nice, so if I could have a GF wrap I could make it work! The counter gentlemen was kind but told me they don’t carry them and that’s all. I looked at the salads on the menu but that’s practically what I’ve already been eating so I just left disheartened. I checked later and it seems they have GF bread. I wish I was informed. People walking in behind me made me feel overwhelmed which is my fault - but if the menu was labeled in some fashion I think that could have helped? I also clearly didn’t look hard enough though since I didn’t see the bread, so maybe I just panicked and didn’t notice. I know the world doesn’t revolve around everyone. If I could, I would bring my own stupid accommodations with me without looking like a lunatic. I just wish I could have some help. I miss y’all’s food.

First off, let me give a shout out to our server Jimmy (James B), he really took care of us, made great suggestions and his positive attitude was infectious. Second, let me say this brewery is casual and fun with lots of things to do. You can book one of several free or pay brewery tours, but you have to make reservations well in advance. If you don’t book a tour, you can take a walking tour yourself just without the guide, most of the areas have descriptions or are self-explanatory, but I highly recommend you do toward the brewery because it is really cool. You can also hang out on what they call the back porch, which has fireplaces, lawn games, live music (sometimes) and food can be held by the back window. There’s also a cool gift shop, with the Sierra Nevada labeled gear. That is perfect. If you’re taking gifts home to somebody that wasn’t on the trip with you. But the prime spot is in the tap room and restaurant, where you can sample flights of beer and have some really amazing food, most of them cooked with some aspect of their beer. They also have an allergy menu, so if you have a food allergy or sensitivity, they have you vivered. But you really want to hear about the food don’t you? Water - I know it’s only water, but they bring it in this cool Mason jar so that you don’t have to wait for somebody to pour your water. Beer - I don’t drink but my wife loved her chocolate stout (Norwal) which was seasonal, infused with espresso and chocolate. Olives - wonderful olive appetizer, with your kids of olives in a deep marinade. Good starter. Chicken Wings - AMAZING - we chose the soy ginger, served lollipop style, and it was my favorite dish of the night. Good portions, so don’t be scared to make this your meal. Duck Fat Fries - on previous visits, this was my favorite side dish, but for some reason, it fell flat on me today. Shrimp - sweet and spicy this was the Dish that gave the WOW factor. So good, really, so good. Burger - solid choice, plus you have the ability to add a patty if you are really hungry and 86 the bun if you want it gluten free. Brussels - good, but seemed to be missing something to make it pop. You may love them, so don’t be scared to order them. After dinner, we set up by the fire, met some folks, including first responders who were up there to continue to provide service for the flood victims. But overall, just a wonderful time.

This is a great coffee shop in Fletcher NC. The food is absolutely amazing and fresh! We both got the breakfast croissant with bacon and avocado and it was delicious! The staff is so sweet and welcoming. We were there when they brought in the fresh bread for the day and it all looked so good! Plenty of options and sweet treats all made fresh. Also gluten free options. We will definitely back again!
