Not alot of food choices for celiac/ gluten concerns. We ordered chicken whiff. They were tasty n big but one was cold n red on the inside n after reheating; while the end bone was popping hot the inside was still cool. Disappointing
My wife has celiac, so when we moved to Corpus and saw that Padre Island Burger Co. had gluten free buns, it was a no brainer to try. Good thing we did, because the food is amazing! No issues with GF and tons of burger options! Friendly staff and nice outdoor seating makes for a great casual dinner after a long day of work or a day at the beach!
Pros:
Service was excellent. Our server was kind and responsive. The views really are gorgeous and it’s a great time of year to be outside. The GF options are clearly defined.
Food:
I got the grilled fish tacos. This is NOT a place I would go with celiac. Although our sever was truly amazing and willing to figure out anything, there was no mention that the fries had gluten.
The food was a solid three stars for me. The ingredients are fresh and the fish and burger were cooked well. But everything was a bit lacking. The green beans tasted frozen to me. They very well just could have been steamed, but they tasted bland to me. (And I really like green beans.) I wished the corn tortillas were heated. They were straight out of the bag, and the fish was cold. That being said, I took my extra one home because the Tuna was super solid and well seasoned.
The ceviche was Tex-mex? I’m not sure what was going on. It was more of a saucy salsa style rather than a cut up, pico type, of salsa. Again, the fish was fresh. I loved the shrimp in it but overall me and my husband were disappointed with it.
For highly sensitive people, it’s very loud. But it’s a very popular local spot on the beach so that is to be expected. I was glad I brought my sunglasses as it’s open to the outside.
If you’re looking for great views, solid food, and a casual eat out, this is a decent option. I don’t know what else Corpus has to offer but people seem to love it. Our Airbnb even recommended it.
I would wager a bet that their fried fish options are super solid. I just couldn’t partake with my gluten allergy. But given how well my fish was cooked, and the other reviews, I’d go for those meals.
I have to eat gluten free and had a fantastic meal here. I was able to have shrimp scampi, they have gluten free pasta and took precautions. Our server Alyssa was very helpful.

Very bland and just not good. We did not finish our pad Thai or lo mein which you would think are pretty safe options. Love the fact they have gluten free options, but they really need to ramp up the menu.
Look, I read the reviews; I always read the reviews and especially the negative ones. I imagine this place can get quite busy during the beach season AND everything is made to order. If you want fast, go to Mcdonalds or Starbucks. In the end it wasn't like it was that slow but not everything in life THIS GOOD should be fast. I had a creative bun-less burger called the Sgt Dan. It was delicious - 5 star for sure. I'll be back. Enough variety in the menu to keep it interesting and a gluten free option or two. Also, with it being close to the beach I can eat, maybe have a glass of vino, and then take a walk on the beach.. which we did. Good times.
What fun. Delightful young waitress with great suggestions. Excellent food. Onion rings best ever and gluten free. Musician out on the patio playing great music.
