We held my afternoon tea hen party here and had the best time!! The staff were incredibly accommodating and generous in helping my hens bring their vision to life. Nothing was too much of a hassle and we felt super welcome - the team at Oranges and Lemons made it all really special. They were also brilliant with our access needs (I’m a wheelchair user) and dietary requirements (vegan, nut free, gluten free, veggie etc). The food was delicious (best vegan afternoon sandwiches I’ve had!) and we’ve had great feedback from the group. The room was the perfect vibe for us - lovely atmosphere and decor. We can’t thank them enough for such a memorable afternoon. We’ll be returning for lunch and many more afternoon teas…!

We popped in here on Fathers Day never heard if this pub before we highly recommend it ! DOG FRIENDLY ! children friendly too Just overall friendly great polite service with a smile nothing too much trouble gluten free Fish & Chips were lovely as was the roasts ! Especially the Yorkshires ! A must visit if you are local or visiting this pretty part of Essex Thank you for a great experience we will be back 👍

Patch is the best place to eat in Colchester - especially the hash browns. Food is always good quality, with interesting flavours in a lovely setting. Good friendly service, and good for gluten-free.

What a lovely place with such excellent service and really yummy Sunday roast. There is never enough gravy in most subday roasts but not at Mersea Barns! A whole gravy boat for the table! My kids have allergies and so many places we go to eat it's complicated and we are made to feel like an inconvenience but the staff at Mersea Barns went out of their way to be kind and accomidate our dietary needs. Good to see a couple of dairy free/ gluten free things at the counter too makes a world of difference to feel included when you have allergies.

What a great asset to Colchester! A lovely shop that sells everything you need and more, they have an excellent range of gluten free suitable foods too. Highly recommend their fresh pastries, savouries and cakes - their Mars Crunch is our favourite! And that’s before we get to the fresh coffee and 100 cheeses… highly recommend a visit!

We ordered food from here for our Christmas Dance Party buffet. A selection of sandwiches with Christmas flavours, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, dips and veggie sticks and quiche. We have a few people in the group with food allergies as well as sensitive to gluten, vegetarian and vegan . Brunch offered options for everyone! Not just “something to eat” but rather a good selection for everyone to have a nice meal. All the trays and packs were perfectly labelled and the food was delivered on time as agreed. The attendees of the party came out of their way to let me know that they enjoyed the food. I will happily recommend for your event. Making an order is pretty straightforward and you can get good advice and help from the team about what to orded. They also let me know if I was ordering too much for the amount of people. Thank you so much, Brunch. You really contributed to our party to be a great success. Highly Recommended!

Great service, particularly as we were a very large party. They also catered to diners with dietary requirements—we were told they ordered Gluten Free pasta specifically.
